Prince doing covers of other artists We've all heard Prince and the band doing covers of several songs (both on record and live in concerts). Some good ones, some bad ones - but all depending on your own personal tastes.
My question is, what song would you actually like him to sing/play? Pick a song, any musical style you wish, that you think our boy would do a good job on. My first choice is "Reasons" by EWF.... Can you imagine Prince screaming those lyrics in concert? "Reasons, the reasons that we hear, The reasons that we fear our feelings won't disappear Oooh! And after the love games have been played All our illusions were just a parade And all the reasons start to fade And in the morning when I rise, no longer feeling hynotized For no reasons, our reasons, our reasons have no pride" "No, I'm not that mysterious. I'm a pretty open book. People who know my music, I would say know me." - Prince, Today Show 3/15/04

Debaser by the Pixies. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I don't know if he would do a good job with it or not, but I would love to hear Prince do "Ziggy Stardust". I think it's just a curiosity thing with me ...:...Must I become naked?
No image at all? Shall I remain upright? Or get down and crawl?...:...

Which Pixies album is Debaser on? What about Ziggy Stardust? [Yeah, there's a lot out there I haven't heard yet. ]
If anyone has a link to an audio file, like from CDnow.com or something, please post. "No, I'm not that mysterious. I'm a pretty open book. People who know my music, I would say know me." - Prince, Today Show 3/15/04

Reason's is Sooo Damn High.. I don't Think That's a Good Choice... I also think he should cover some Covers by the COMMODORES and Not BRICK HOUSE..How about ONCE, TWICE, 3 x a Lady? Or Easy? Something Romantic and Sweet.

"Reasons" is one of the songs that I play when I'm alone in my car, on a long car trip. It is guaranteed to keep my awake and singing my lungs out. Now, I can't really sing, but I can hit those high notes just fine. Me thinks that Princey can too. "No, I'm not that mysterious. I'm a pretty open book. During the acoustic set of his show, I would actually scream like luutlee guulll if he did GnR'S Patience. It would also be cool for him to replace "Soul Man" with "Hold on, I'm coming". The horns breakdown is tooooo FOOOOONNNNNKAAAAAYYYYY!!!!! Jeux Sans Frontiers

I'm with you! Ziggy would be hot. I really like that Prince did that LEd Zeppelin Cover, I think he favors the R&B stuff to much so more rock covers would be cool. Also The Beatles cover on the Rock & Roll Hall of fame was classic...more rock, less R&B. nero

I dreamt he did a song from the Wiz in concert.
It's one of the last songs, with the chorus "Can you feel a brand new Day" It was sure amazing in my dream. I have dreamt original music from him in concert that I wish I could remember now. Always thought he'd be good at Elvis. Check this song out at:

Believe it or not.....I'd like to hear him cover Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill". [This message was edited Thu May 20 16:04:03 2004 by SteamForest] I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.
