i just went to nyc's yearly party celebrating the world of stevie nicks...a party at which our very own purplegypsy performed for the first time (to rave reviews, no less)...prince made a guest appearance, sort of. one of the performances was the ho-hos' interpretation of "stand back"...a very historical interpretation. they began the bit with "stevie" and a man (forget who the guy was supposed to be...purplegypsy would know) driving in a little red corvette with a stndbck license plate. they were listening to little red corvette when stevie gets inspired to write a song. the rest of the performance was a collage of little red corvette and stand back complete with prince impersonators. it really was a brilliant avante garde performance of the two songs told with very accurate knowledge of the history. i have photos that i'll put up when i get back to my place on monday.

oh man, we've gone 4 times but last night was the first time purplegypsy performed! you should go next year, you'll have some fun!! as for the prince bit, it was so cool to see someone tribute not only stevie's talent, but prince's role in.
