I love the fact that he is howling the melody. I also LOVE CLoreen Baconskin. It's nice and breezy. Another song of this nature is You gotta shake something. Love em both! Now onto the subject of Hypno Paradise. It's kinda Love Boaty for me. But I do like the song...reminds me of a Revolution track. It's very uplifting. We Gets Up has to be THE worst Prince song ever...and what about The Lubricated Lady...that´s a stinker too....never gets mentioned here..The Lubricated Lady should be on every " turn ppl off of Prince " mixtape. this song is great. why things like that and She Gave Her Angels, and Goodbye and Journey 2 The Center Of Ur Heart were left off in favor of dreck like We Gets Up, Get Yo Groove On and Da Da Da, i'll never understand. now THAT SHIT is some of his most irritating. hell, you can do a lot worse than Hypno-Paradise as far as irritating Prince songs go. what about Poom Poom? High is repulsively annoying but I love Vavoom! The song has serious bass. Oh PurpleKight, check out the history behind LALALAHEEHEEHEE, Sheena made a bet with Prince that he couldn't make up a song with that as the title and this is what he came back with. Check out his bass playing on it. Bet David Eye pops up with a link to the exact article!!.
I still can't get into a song with dogs barking in it though. It sounds hideous! The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Yes, you're right, because I don't think a song with dogs barking is the least bit fun or enjoyable, I suddenly am not capable of feeling Prince's entire catalogue of music. 
BTW Isn't it kinda weird how if you say any of Prince's 90's songs are annoying or garbage you get agreed with, but say anything bad about his 80's work and suddenly you "don't get it"? Morning Papers That song just bugs.  Love that song also. I think it also has a nice guitar part on it. Most annoying to me: Arms of Orion Take Me with U All Graffiti Bridge songs that he wrote for someone else. There's a difference between a song that you think is BAD, and one that is IRRITATING/ANNOYING.
To me: "Pope" is a bad song, but not irritating. I can sit through it. however; "Man In Uniform" is about as irritating as a song can get. I can't listen to it. Those d*mned horns make my skin crawl! By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! | |

If by irritating you mean unlistenable or grating , I'd have to say Rave Un the Joy Fantastic (1999 version ) and maybe Dionne , those 2 tracks make me wince when I'm listening to them Check out Chocadelica , updated with Lotusflow3r and MPLSound album lyrics April 2nd 2009 :
