Whenever people speak about the best ever out takes, it shocks me Heaven never gets a mention. Although its rough and demo like, I think a rework has number one written all over it.

It is an absolute masterpiece, a stroke of genius. It actually sounds heavenly despite the sparse instrumentation. It's one of my favorite too.

Hmmm... well, I guess that I will play Devil's advocate here. I think that if this song were ever 2 be released, it would have 2 go through an immense amount of reworking. It strikes me as more of a piece that Prince sort of rattled off and didn't give a lot of thought to. There are parts of it that are excellent, but most of the song isn't very appealing 2 me. It has the same kind of sparse instrumentation that u can find on "When Doves Cry," but I don't know if it would have the same kind of appeal. Then again, it is just a demo, so who knows. At any rate, I don't think that Prince would have a big hit on his hands with a finished and polished version of "Heaven." He'd probably just end up with a good song.
