Sexual Suicide
The message you're about to hear is not meant for transmission
Should only be accessed in the privacy of your mind
The words are intense so my dear if you dare to listen
Take off your clothes

'Lovesign' also...nod...I like 'Hide the bone' too & I love So dark' and even '2morrow'...there's a lot of other 'not talked about' tracks on there that I really like. It's hard to pick just three!

the first two are easy for me:

1. Crucial (had this on repeat for about 10 listens recently)

2. Sexual Suicide (funky...a friend once asked me "how do you dance to this?" i said, " you just do"--damn funky)

the third is harder:

3. Good Love

It's funny, I'm listening to disc 1 right now for the first time in ages, and there is A LOT of crap on here.

I love Crystal Ball, like Hide the Bone, Dream Factory, Movie Star, and a few others, but my god, Lovesign, 2morrow, Acknowledge Me, So Dark, Tell Me How U Wanna Be Done are so unbelievably mediocre. It's really making me realize one of the reasons I love the new album is that it doesn't rely as heavily on drum programming, and the stuff that's there doesn't sound like it's trying so hard to be "down."

What era is Poom Poom from...Gold Experience or Emancipation? Now I know this contradicts everything I just said, but I like this track...a lot. I never really noticed it before. That's a squirrely ass bassline.

Different strokes. I really don't think P handles drum machines other than the Linn very well. It's like he pioneered his own sort of drum programming, and some of the programmed '90s stuff just sounds like he's trying to play catch-up, when he's clearly got the skills to work in an entirely different game. Lovesign and So Dark, especially, they just drift off into anonymity to me. But it's all personal taste.

Are you kidding??? I think Crystal Ball is the best Prince song ever. It's funky and adventurous, it takes you many places, there is the orchestra stuf, the funny sounds all over the song, it just kicks ass in my opinion!

1) Goodbye
2) Cloreen Bacon Skin
3) Lovesign

And he should have put all the good songs on one CD and then crap on the other 2 so I don't have to carry all three of them around when I want to hear the 3 songs I listed above....
