Happy Birthday to One Nite Alone... two years old today One Nite Alone... (piano and voice) was sent out 2 years ago - people started to receive it on May 15th, 2002. Break it out and listen to it!
Any thoughts/memories of receiving the album, or how the album/songs fit into the Prince canon of work? What would you give ONA... as a birthday present? | |

moderatorI was happy to get a studio copy of "Avalanche". After hearing it live at the ONA concert in Phoenix, I fell in love with that song. At the time I wasn't sure if it was ever going to be released. Much to my enjoyment, it was! | |

Nice little album but after my initial liking of it I kinda got bored of it. The first two tracks are great but it gets a bit hit and miss after that. That said, I still think he should've released it to retail. | |

It's real pretty. Didn't care for it for a few listens. I get a bit bored of the title track, and his cover of A Case of U is misguided, i think. (He's done much prettier covers of this song before in concert, and i think his tinkering with the lyrics is pointless).
Some of the others are beautiful though, truly.
As a birthday present i'd buy it a few beers and try and pull it. | |
