How much output & at what price can you as a fan handle?

Hey everyone,

This post is more or less to send a small message out there as to what the fans want. How much output can we actually handle from Prince? This topic is to discuss what kind of output, as fans, we can handle and at what price we would be willing to pay. Obviously an answer of EVERYTHING AT ONCE is not a good nor realistic one. This is more to facilitate a feasible output model that is reasonably priced. Please try to keep answers short (if possible). Maybe this discussion will work it’s way to the club…so instead of try/fail approaches, maybe we can give some decent feedback collectively.

So the questions are:

How often would you buy new music:
Downloadable Album (vault, new, or live):
Downloadable Single (vault, new, or live):
Retail CD (either bought in the store or online):
Downloadable Video Clip:

How much would you pay for:
Downloadable Album (vault, new, or live):
Downloadable Single (vault, new, or live):
Downloadable Video Clip:
Would you pay more for vault or live stuff?:

Misc Questions:
I prefer to download over buying the actual CD:
I’d pay extra money on a download purchase to have the actual CD:
If it meant that only the CD cover and back were included but no liner notes I’d still pay the extra money:
If you could release one thing could be released either in downloadable form or retail what would it be?
A suggestion for the music club would be:

So I guess I'll start... biggrin

How often would you buy new music:
Downloadable Album (vault, new, or live): Once a month
Downloadable Single (vault, new, or live): Twice a month
Retail CD (either bought in the store or online): Twice a year
Downloadable Video Clip: If it was a new song, maybe once a month

How much would you pay for:
Downloadable Album (vault, new, or live): I like the model of $7.77 but would be willing to pay $9.99. The 7.77 seems like a bargain.
Downloadable Single (vault, new, or live): Again I like the .77 that’s in place. Controversy Live was WELL worth the price. I would pay up to a dollar.
Downloadable Video Clip: $1 - 3
Would you pay more for vault or live stuff?: Yes. Especially if it was a famous concert and had excellent sound quality. I’d pay at least $20 - $30 for Septembre

Misc Questions:
I prefer to download over buying the actual CD: Actual CD
I’d pay extra money on a download purchase to have the actual CD: YES
If it meant that only the CD cover and back were included but no liner notes I’d still pay the extra money: YES. Liner notes are nice. But more important to me is my CD collection itself. I have plenty of boots with just a cover pic and that’s fine.
If you could release one thing could be released either in downloadable form or retail what would it be? The Undertaker
A suggestion for the music club would be: Maybe add the stuff that was done after the WB would be a start…all the videos, songs, outtakes etc. The stuff he has the rights to. Oh and Add more music to the Glam Slam Room! What a waste of time, space and anticipation.

I agree with every word you said, except for paying more for live stuff - I'd rather pay for 'new' music (even vault music) than alternate versions of music I know. I'm right with you on everything else, though, including the numbers you gave, and The Undertaker.

How often would you buy new music:
Downloadable Album (vault, new, or live): Never. Unless unavailable elsewhere.
Downloadable Single (vault, new, or live): Never. Unless unavailable elsewhere.
Retail CD (either bought in the store or online): As often, and many as released.
Downloadable Video Clip: Never.

How much would you pay for:
Downloadable Album (vault, new, or live): $7.77
Downloadable Single (vault, new, or live): $.77
Downloadable Video Clip: $0
Would you pay more for vault or live stuff?: No.

Misc Questions:
I prefer to download over buying the actual CD: Fuck no.
I’d pay extra money on a download purchase to have the actual CD: Want CDs.
If it meant that only the CD cover and back were included but no liner notes I’d still pay the extra money: Fuck artwork. Mystery is fine. Give me 1400kbps stereo CD.
If you could release one thing could be released either in downloadable form or retail what would it be?: Retail.
A suggestion for the music club would be: Release the CD's for Crispy-Christ's sake.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Good questions so here goes...

How often would you buy new music:
Downloadable Album (vault, new, or live): 4 a year (1 new, 1 vault, 1 live, 1 surprise)
Downloadable Single (vault, new, or live): 1-2 a month
Retail CD (either bought in the store or online): 1-2 a year
Downloadable Video Clip: 1 a month

How much would you pay for:
Downloadable Album (vault, new, or live): $7.77 seems fair
Downloadable Single (vault, new, or live): $0.77 seems fair
Downloadable Video Clip: $1.77 seems fair (if a single track)
Would you pay more for vault or live stuff?: live stuff should be cheaper than vault stuff

Misc Questions:
I prefer to download over buying the actual CD: No I prefer CDs anyday
I’d pay extra money on a download purchase to have the actual CD: Yes a little
If it meant that only the CD cover and back were included but no liner notes I’d still pay the extra money: Yes
If one thing could be released either in downloadable form or retail what would it be? A DVD of a concert from each tour
A suggestion for the music club would be: Provide artwork for download, soundboard whole concert recordings from one show from each tour
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.
