Make Your Mama Happy

Was this song originally recorded during the days with The Revolution?

Yes. Consider it a leftover from the Parade-era.

This was one of the last things recorded at the end of August 1986, before the final Prince & The Revolution concerts in Japan in September, 1986, so it's more of a Dream Factory-Crystal Ball-Sign O The Times era recording.

Yup. Those "eras" just keep blending so uncomfortably into each other, don't they?.

I just thought a Parade-era recording would be a better description since neither Dream Factory nor Crystal Ball ever saw a commercial release in their various configurations.

Don't forget that "Sign O' The Times" was just a compromised (i.e. chopped up) version of Crystal Ball anyway.
