Taking blood into the body through mouth or veins violates God’s laws.
Or JW's laws! | |

Trust me, if he knew he was going to die, he'd get a transfusion.
He's not stupid. | |

There are many non-blood alternatives and surgeries in todays modern world.
With the risks of blood transfusions and the very recent (and past) cases of diseases being spread through them, many non-witness patients are requesting that blood not be used in their treatment. There were some recent statistics that revealed that out of all the patients that refused blood, Jehovah's Witnesses were actually the minority. Jehovah's Witness accept all types of medicine and greatly value God's gift of life, but they will not violate God's Biblical commands involving the use of blood. Peace Mr7

I used to wonder in the past if blood is really so dangerous and there are better safer and cheaper alternatives why are they not being used? The answer is simple. Blood is a global multibillion-dollar-a-year industry!
There are billions to be made! Why should they put the welfare of humans first? Cynical? No! Reality! "Cigarettes are in no way connected to cancer or any other respiratory disease. Cigarettes are not addictive, it's up to the individual to start and stop as they please." The above comments are of course absurd. However that is what tobacco companies state in various legal cases. Why do they take such an immoral and dishonest stand? Simply, to protect their multi-billion dollar business. These people will stop at nothing to protect their investment regardless of the cost to human lives. Why should the multi-billion dollar blood trade be any different? "We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one."-1 John 5:19.

Or JW's laws! So if Prince stuck that tube somewhere else, (you know where) . It would be right in line with God's law?

(Acts 15:28-29) For the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to YOU, except these necessary things, to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication. If YOU carefully keep yourselves from these things, YOU will prosper. Good health to YOU!”
(Acts 15:19-20) Hence my decision is not to trouble those from the nations who are turning to God, but to write them to abstain from things polluted by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

There are billions to be made! Why should they put the welfare of humans first? Cynical? No! Reality! [edit] Why should the multi-billion dollar blood trade be any different? Billions to be made in the blood industry? I used to work for a blood bank in Denver, we sure as hell weren't making tons of money (neither the company nor the employees!). Where are you getting your information from? I'd be curious to see the source. While there is research ongoing to develop synthetic alternatives and products derived from cow's blood are being tested, there aren't any approved substitutes for red cells, platelets, or plasma. I'd be interested to hear what the "better safer and cheaper alternatives" are, according to you. In addition, what is the evidence to support your claim that the blood supply currently is "so dangerous"? "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015
