Does anybody here like " White Mansion"? I always thought it was a light, funny, laid back song, actually one of my favorites on Emancipation, but, outside of my family , no one else, young or old, seems to have any time for it...So I was just wondering... is it universally hated, or just not very interesting to most fans? Nope. Just a bunch of whining, as far as I'm concerned. *****************************************

This one did not leap out at me when I first got Emancipation, but grew on me. There's a maturity in it that wasn't seen so much before this album. Love the lyrics. Every now and then

I love it. I always have and always wondered why it didnt get more attention. But then Emanciaption was a set that really did take a year or so to consume and appreciate fully. In a world rule by the flavor of the month - or week - many people missed the breadth adn depth of that 3 hour set.

I think it's one of the better tracks off Emancipation. I heard that the lyrics were inspired by Prince's then fallout with Wendy & Lisa. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I've loved it for years! One of my faves on the album. Certainly my fav on Disk I; Joint 2 Joint is my fav on Disc II, and My Computer is my fav on Disc III.
[Why oh why didn't he release My Computer; it would've been a great hit!]
