The Jeoffret Ballet version of Thunder...

The version is absolutely beautiful. It is MUCH longer than the version on D&P. I can't help but wonder if this was originally recorded this way and intended for inclusion on D&P but cut down for time reasons, or if it was revised for the ballet. Anyone have any info on this?

Peace

A much better version than the album cut. I can't stomach the one from the record, but for some reason, the Ballet remix is quite pleasant.

I read about this on A Documentary by Per Nilsen or Uptown's Days Of Wild.
As I remember, it was specially mixed for that project.

Thanks for the info, this would have worked great on D&P in my opinion.

Thanks again

wait a minute, the joffrey ballet version is just thunder witha whole different piece of insturmental music spliced in that really doesn't have anything to do with the rest, which is identical to the album version.... right?

I used to have this ballet on tape somwhere from PBS....

Yeah, you're right, ufoclub...it's the same song exactly, with the (IMO killer) orchestral interlude in the middle.

I've always wondered if the orchestral part is actually scored by Prince or if it's Clare Fischer or what...

Prince tailored the original version of 'Thunder' by adding an instrumental piece, and naming the version 'Thunder Ballet'.It was recorded at Paisley on October 5th 1991.

Personally.....I can't stand it biggrin But, there ya go
