Reply to 'Purple Rain - Additional Track'
The album is fine. You can't change history. The tracks that are already on there made the album what it was and is. It is complete.

You know, a lot of the die-hard's such as ourselves, have a tendency to "blow off" Purple Rain because it was such a commercial hit. But that was some EXCELLENT material that came out of that project from beginning to end. There wasn't a single miss.
Classic and Historical time IMO. I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Well it was on the b-side of the 12inch of Let's Go Crazy, so i'd hazard a guess at '84. could be '85 though. I can't remember Somebody mentioned Extraloveable above, that is not a Purple Rain era track. 1982/3 i think. On Testament i'm sure it states it was intended for Vanity6. If that's the case, why does he namecheck the Revolution on it? confused edit [This message was edited Tue May 18 4:46:51 2004 by Marrk]

you've never heard the original version, have you? I have (by The Stylistics, right?), and it's the better version, but I love Prince's too. I just connect with it. How Come... would be phenomenal to me if that piano wasn't so piercingly loud. Just ruins it. ...and I wouldn't wanna add 'electric intercourse', because i'd then feel like removing 'the beautiful ones'. I just don't feel the two songs would work together on the same album. In the end I think '17 days' would fit in on the album the easiest. i TOTALLY AGREE WITH RIGHTEOUSONE. ELECTRIC INTERCOURSE AND BEAUTIFUL ONES ON THE SAME JOINT WOILDN'T WORK AS WELL. 17 DAYS HANDS DOWN SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

If Purple Rain was released before the final change it would have been:
Take me with U The Beautiful ones Computer Blue Darling Nikki God Let's Go crazy I would die for U Baby I'm a star Purple Rain This could have been the next lp. When doves cry She's Always in My Hair 17 Days All Day, All Night Electric Intercoarse Erotic City Rasberry baret The dance electric If Prince had released this as a follow lp, this would have killed all of the wannabees copycats at that time. This would be a classic lp. In the same vein as 1999. Radio and clubs would bump this non stop, the streets would be colored with purple. Dig if U will a picture.....
