Where's the One-Eyed Bass? haven't seen prince use it lately. (always wondered if that was mayte's eye...)
he doesn't seem to do the double-bass thing with rhonda like he did with sonny.

it definatly maytes eye on it
i thought he reason 2 stop using it was becuz it's her eye on it, and they're are no longer 2gether but he did use it on Rave 2000 and they had split by then hadn't they?

Prince's one-eyed bass is/was a Warwick, an axe more in keeping with the sound and feel of Sonny T (he played Warwicks, primarily).
But, with his recent shift toward a more Larry Graham-ish, rounder sound, he's had Rhonda play Fenders (which are known for that sound). That sound has also been seen more consistently in his studio work So, while his reasoning could range from the aforementioned to musical or stylistic whimsy, there also could be musical reasons for the change.
