Call My Name radio edit I actually heard Call My Name on the radio today and it is interesting to note the radio edit (at least the one played on WIZF in Cincinnati) skips the "STOP THE WAR" verse. Guess it makes sense for radio to cut a 5+ minute song down to just under 4 minutes. Thught it was interestesd that Sony and Prince are trying to stay as non-controversal , non-political as possible, by omitting this verse in the radio edit.

Hmm, that's sort of sad as that verse is one of it's few redeeming features in my eyes... guess we can count out Cinnamon Girl as a single then.

That's ridiculous....is that station owned by Clear Channel by any chance? No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

That's infuriating! Censorship anyone? It's getting more commonplace everyday.

...that's VERY silly to stop that verse. [This message was edited Mon May 17 20:38:50 2004 by Starmist7]

I doubt Prince is trying to stay non-political. He even performed Dear Mr. Man on the MTV/BET special.
The edit is probably due to Michael Powell and his FCC henchmen.
