Musicology Prince's 2004 answer to Sign o the Times I swear the albums are nearly alike. Not saying that Musicology is not original, because SOTT was extremely original, but both albums are very alike. "Dear Mr. Man" is lyrically parallel to the title track of SOTT and the hybrid jazz/R&B/pop/rock style is similar to that of SOTT's. The horns in both albums really accentuate this.
"Cinnamon Girl" musically is alike to "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man". "Call My Name" to "Adore" and "Slow Love" is structured similarly to "On the Couch." The lyrics also refer to relatively to the same thing. "It"'s simple structure is similar to "Illusion, Coma, Pimp and Circumstance." Both albums have deep lyrics and focus on complex relationships between men and women. BLEEP BLEEP! | |
