Please explain this lyric? Okay, from "Let's Go Crazy"
we know to "go crazy" meant to believe in and accept GOD and "the elevator" was the devil. But what the hell do the lyrics "Just look for the purple banana until they put us in the trunk" mean? Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see

. you're right, the lyric is truck...but it's the "purple banana" lyrics that has always been hazy to me Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see

Look for the purple banana (something that may or may not exist like God himself) until they put us in the truck (until the men in white haul us off to the loony bin). That's my interpratation.   Proud member of Prince's cult for 20 years! | |

Purple Banana:
(Musa Velutina) this is an alluring plant with a purple-green, to yellow-green, narrow trunk that can grow to about five feet. It has long green leaves and produces white flowers with purple bracts, which is followed by pink to purple fruit. Pre-soak seed and sow at 70-75° F. Grow in full light and shade from hot suns.
