I love that song. I had not listened to it in almost four years prior to last night. It still creeps the shit out of me. The only thing that bugs me is the damn grammar. There ARE others here with us, Prince...not there IS others....sheesh.....must be his amputated foot that messes up his grammar....

Same thing with "Gotta Broken Heart Again." But, I guess one can't be too picky with an artist that says shit like "2 Fonky 4 U"

Anyway, "There's Others Here With Us" just creeps the shit out of me....those freaky fucking noises in the background...the spooky drums....gulp....

Actually, here is how the song sounds.

It starts with what sound like wild birds chirping in a grave yard. Then you hear a little creepy synth line then these big ass drums kick in--shit sounds like a shovel banging against a crypt, then it starts with this high pitched squealing synth. Layers of creepy synth squeals, that keep changing. Like insane acid jazz or something. Prince's vocals are creepy and mysterious, with falsetto squeals and cries, like he sees ghosts or sometin. Song just gets louder and louder and the drums pound and pound.

Probably his most original song ever. This motherfucker invented goth.

People say it's creepy for a variety of reasons. I personally find Prince's vocal delivery and the weeping sounds unnerving.

I find JD unnerving. smile

I once made a cool mix with this song as the highlight. I also had other creepy shit on there like "Something in the water" I also used "Overcome" & "Hell is around the corner" by Tricky.

This song creeped me out when I first got it on a 50th-generation cassette. Haunting. I wonder if he's got other stuff in the vault like this? The only other song this dark I can think of is Dance With the Devil.

The first time I heard this song, on my "Jewel Box" IMPORT, was after coming home from seeing "The Blair Witch Project" for the first time...dark apartment, all tunderstorming and shit outside....it was amazingly scary....
