Random thoughts on Musicology, and other things Princely

- I find Cinnamon girl intoxicating (yes it screams cheesy but I like it)

- I am not fond of any of the ballads on Musicology (I find the melodies and vocals dull)

- Musicology is the most cohesive and funky dance track P has made since the mid eighties.

- The synth work on couple of tracks (Marrying Kind) are extremely irritating.

- I remain more intrigued with TRC than Musicology.

- I am baffled that Prince does not "free his guitar" in the studio to capture half of the passion and brilliance that I have seen live. "Beautiful Strange" in Hollywood as well as the performances on "Joy in R" and "Guitar gently Weeps" are some of the most brilliant pieces of musicianship that I have ever witnessed.

- If Prince's guitar playing is "average" as some on this board have said, what exactly is good/great? To some, if it isn't Hendrix or Vai, it is just ok.

- I find that symbol guitar to be horrid, yet it seems to fit right in with P. Could you see anyone else using that guitar?

- I am absolutely smitten with Candy and Rhonda and this probably clouds my opinion of their musical abilities.

- I found the grammy performance that has received critical acclaim to be quite boring by Prince's standards
