I just can't believe all the things ppl say...

I'm really surprised TGE has been mentioned here. I mean, wow.

To me, it has everything you could ask for in a Prince album.

It has classic Princely attitude filled songs with true meaning behind them (Pussy Control, Billy Jack Bitch), energetic dance songs that get your heart racing (Endorphinmachine, Now), sexy Princely sensuality (Shhh), addictive pop (Dolphin, 319), emotional turmoil (I Hate U), political insight (Shy), and even a heart stopping, high adrenaline ballad in Gold to end it all on a high note.

Yeah, the segues are there, but big deal, it's not like they're half an hour each in length. And the production, no matter what anyone says, is brilliant to me. It's supposed to feel like an unprecedented rich musical experience, the musical equivalent of gold, and it captures that flawlessly.

And Emancipation, well I can understand ppl getting tired of the canned beats and overproduced sounds in some songs, but Disc II is simply amazing to me.

It's sweet, musically rich, completely inspired and heartfelt, and really just as sweet and romantic as music has ever sounded.

His creativity here was just amazing too. Songs like The Love We Make and Friend/Lover/Sister/Mother/Wife still astound me to no end.

NPS- A total crapfest. I would probably sell this piece of shit if it weren't for "Come On" and "Wasted Kisses". Seriously, Prince could have recorded himself farting and it would have been better "music"

Batman- Ahhh, the sound of cheap filler tracks! Its almost like Prince was saying "hmmm, what crappy songs do I have in the vault that I just don't give two shits about? I'll give those to Tim Burton!"

I would also include D&P, but if you block out Tony M its not so bad. "Strollin" is wonderful, and "Money Don't Matter 2nite" is smooth as can be. I also love "Insatiable" and "Gett Off". To me, those songs counteract crap like "Jughead". However, I do rarely listen to the whole thing.

most annoying is a strong phrase, BUT

i'm with you, i remember listening to Diamonds and Pearls

when it was released and thinking

"shit, he's lost it and gone pop"

the whole

period of giving people what they need versus what they want

was over. i died a little bit on that day.

The Symbol album gets annoying with that Kirstie Allie mindless drivel. I have often thought of burning that C.D without her on it.

HEre's how important Chaos and Disorder was..

Somebody snatched it outta my house, been stolen for a great while and I just realized it was missing from this forum.

I don't care what anyone thinks, I LOVE TRC. Was it because it was a happy time in my life when I wore it out? Most likely.

Rave sucked...I shoulda spent the money on Raekwon's new album that came out on the same day back then.

No, Kirstie was a fan. She met him and gushed how much she loved his music, etc, etc. Eventually, P got her invovled on the prince album project as the character of Vanessa Bartholemew (whom he had been developing back in the D&P days as "Vanessa Bet"). She also presented him with his VH1 Honors award in 1994.

The Gold experience

I know a lot of people who were actually turned off by this one:
"Eye hate U like a day without sunshine"...well what can I say...that is so corny, so naive, it could have been written by a 10 year old
Dolphin: pseudo philosophical crap from someone who obviously has spent too much time reading bestsellers when he should have opened a real philosophical book...
We march, TMBGTW, 319 with that camera noise, WTF!! I don't even like endorphine machine
the only songs I like are P Control and Billy Jack Bitch

GB: The Q of U, Thieves, Joy in Repetition are top notch, a good maxi single

C&D: Dinner with Dolores is one of my favourites, the others... mad

Emancipation: OMG! this is even worse than an R Kelly album, those covers are horrible, Mr Happy, Damn if I do sound the Beverly Hills 92something theme

NPS: I almost cried when I first listened to this one, but I got to like some of the songs (The One, Come On, and Wasted Kisses are really really good)

Rave: shitty shitty album

You know I'm with you on NPS, but PR, really? Is it because it's so played-out, or is it inherently irritating to you?

it's cuz of both.

PR is good but SOOOOO OVERRATED!!!!! I tried listening the other day but just couldn't. There's so much great music out there that P's made available and PR is overrated to me...

Wow...think, think...

From Emancipation to ONA Live I find to be complete drivel. I can list the ten songs I actually liked.

1. Savior
2. Human Body
3. Circle of Amor
4. Fascination
5. Freaks on this Side
6. Poom - Poom
7. Hide the Bone (man that's a jam)
8. Man of War
9. Dorthy Parker (jazz version)
10. Digital Garden

I give all kinds of koodus to Xpectations, N.E.W.S., and Musicology (though I think N.E.W.S. is so much better than Musicology).

Parade bites if you ask me! I haven't had much experience with it apart from Kiss, Girls & Boys, Mountains and Sometimes it Snows... but as an album I thought it was pretty damn ordinary. Yell at me if you disagree!

I couldn't POSSIBLY yell more! Parade is hands-down my favorite Prince album! It's a masterpiece of instrumentation, production, musicianship, songwriting, mood, atmosphere, etc. A fucking masterpiece. To each their own, but man I hope that album grows on you. It's so worth it! Damn...the way the songs flow together so perfectly...it's a musical journey, as cheesy as that sounds.

Parade is without a doubt my favorite Prince album. I listen to it at least once a day at work!

The closest thing to a Prince album that "annoys" me is "Come." There's not much on there that I would just enjoy listening to straight through when I could be listening to better Prince instead.

Having said that, there's hardly any complete album I find annoying. Rather, I found the whole Silicone Sally talking email crap on "The Gold Experience" to be annoying, as was the Kirstie "Pier 1" Alley voiceover work on prince. Basically, whenever Prince does it, it bugs me...THAT'S annoying...

...the worst one of these is the autistic Darth Vader crap on "The Rainbow Children," an album that I otherwise like quite a bit but get frustrated skipping over the apocalyptic crack head junk.

{What Prince album do YOU find to be the most annoying? The one with a basic sound or feel that just drives you up the fucking wall???}

-All of this really hurts me to hear us blast Him
but I agree with most of you.And since I do agree with most of you,
I'll only add what everyone has over looked
KAMASUTRA & the TRUTH.

At the time those releases were announced I couldn't
wait to get my ears around them! the Truth

Only 2 enjoyable songs on the Truth and 2 other songs worth taking note of,
I won't say which because we all have different taste. And with KAMASUTRA

I just felt flattened because there was a sample on
Emancipation that sounded so interesting, however there was nothing soothing or erotic about KAMASUTRA that made me want to listen again. It's a shame because the concept was so PRINCE like but he forgot who he was.

He'll never top 8 from madhouse. 8 and life can be so nice are his 2 most unexpected pieces of work that defined him as an artistic musician.

Others are
Rave!Save Man O War & Silly Games, I love U but.....
NPS! save the One,come on & Waisted kisses
Graffiti bridge! Save Question of U,We can funk,Joy in rep & still will stand.
Emancipation disk 3:save the Love we make,Human body & sleep around.
D & P:Save Get off

Stangely enough I have no problems with the NEWS,C & D or TRC I appreciated what he was attempting!

Musicology? still waiting for it to sink in. (expect the two we all already know)
<+S
We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced
when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

Kamasutra, whatever - but The Truth? Personally I think it's one of the few half-decent things he did during the 90's. I don't think people "overlooked it", it's just that compared to some of the other crap from the 90's it's freakin' high art!

Diamonds and Pearls-Tony M's rapping on this makes me PISSED! He RUINS the whole fucking album. It's kind of average anyway though, with just a few gems.
Emancipation Disc III-Why did you include this, Prince? I really don't get it. It has the most stale canned beats I've ever heard, the most plastic sounds you can find. To make it worse, the bastard put two awesome songs in Face Down and Love We Make on there, so I couldn't just throw the disc away when I got the album.
Lovesexy-Not cause of the music, but cause it's just one track! How stupid is that?! It sucks not being able to skip to songs on it I love more than others, or not being able to skip past Alphabet St. (don't like this song much).[/color]

sorry my ignorance in this part... But what do you mean by that? (same complains I've read here. My cd has 9 tracks...
The only 2-second pause it has comes just to introduce Anna Stesia.
Is it because of that? no pause between the tracks???

Thanx hmmm so the Crystal Ball cd's are 1 track too?

Crystal Ball ....

not because is the worst ...
but because I was expecting a lot more.

Most songs on Crystal Ball are 90's crap ....
Just a few songs from the 80's, most already circulating among fans (and Crystal Ball has some edited versions of them).

No decent Artwork
No Chronologic tracklist .....

IT REALLY ANNOYS ME!
