Got that about 3 months after Parade was released.

Cool timelapse...
You met him in 1990 and then he went back to 1983 and wrote "Katrina's Paper Dolls"?

Yeah, it was originally 'There's a 4 year old in London called Katrina, I saw her on a trip in my purple crystal time machine' but he thought the title was too long .. and changed it..

'Jealous again' is Prince covering The Black Crowes

No, Prince isn't covering The Black Crowes at all.

If you listen to the song of the same title by The Black Crowes you'll find there isn't the remotest resemblance between these tracks.

I have the original If I Love U 2night with Gale Chapman vocals from The Rebels album, it's pretty awful, this is a part of Studio Nights right? I found the disc by itself as a CDr with a picture of Prince on it with leopard skin pants.

I'd have to say Work that fat is pretty rare. I have never heard of
Suzie Lovelace
Go
Small Bright Light

Then there stuff that was supposed to be on the Crystal Ball 2 like
- "3 nigs watching a kung-fu movie"
- "Love And Sex"
- "Evolsidog"
- "Adonis And Batsheeba"
- "Eye Wonder"
- "American Jam"
- "Katrina’s Paper Dolls"

Are any of these circulating? I have also read there are Lovesexy (the song) remixes...not sure if they are out there though

Both "I Wonder" and "Work That Fat" are outtakes from 1991-92 era and are definitely circulating.

"Go", on the other hand, is a Parade-era track. Only a short snippet of the studio version has become available on boot.

As for the others I guess we will have to wait a little bit longer before we get to hear all that stuff. The lyrics to "Adonis And Batsheeba" have already been publised in some magazine somewhere. Apparently the song was a harp-laden piece of whimsy that Prince recorded during the Dream Factory sessions. Susan Rogers hated it.

Prince had nothing to do with "Suzie Lovelace". More than likely, that's Brownmark trying to sing on that one.

.

Actually the bassline to "Eye Wonder" is played in that same rehearsal as"Go", (Or maybe it's a Purple Rain rehearsal). I was shocked to see how old that song really was. Kinda like that 70s new wave version of "Tick Tick Bang". He does indeed have grooves and grooves up on a shelf.

I recently experienced an avalanche of sorts of Prince unreleased material - almost too much new/old music to listen to. Nearly all of these are circulating in one form or another, although some are not of the best quality.

One I can't say I've heard of is Small Bright Light.

Most of the Crystal Ball 2 stuff is not widely available it seems.

What an eye opener though. The last few months have been surreal.

I hope this music gets a proper release sometime. There is some incredible stuff here.

What is "Go" like? I have heard so much about this song. Is it slow, fast, good, or bad? Is it worth tracking down?

Also has anyone actually heard "Wally"? I thought I read in DMSR that he erased it right after recording it. Did he do another version?

Reasonably slow (rehearsal version). Vocals aren't too clear, it's mainly the drum beat. The song is alright, nothing special. Almost entirely the beat and key stabs.

Worth tracking down. smile If u want Prince's music in full u'll just have to.

Too much.

"I Wonder" (recently re-titled "Eye Wonder" by Prince) was once deemed to be a much older outtake, but the track has since been identified as a Diamonds And Pearls-era song. Any soundalike baslines are purely coincidental or embryonic versions of compositions, some of which might just resemble more familiar songs.

The rehearsal containing a lengthy version of "Go" is a Parade-era session from 86.

Ditto.

An element of this instrumental workout was incorporated into the official version of 'Just As Long As We're Together'.

Many tracks are widely circulated now, obviously, but I'm looking for some lists of songs you think or know to be extremely hard-to-find.

Here are a few I've found difficult to locate:

Suzie Lovelace
Lust U Always
Euphoria Highway
Donna
Be My Mirror
Work That Fat
Strange Way Of Saying I Love U
Go
Small Bright Light
Since We've Been Together
Broken

Do you have a list?

I have 3 of those songs so I wouldn't consider them rare, as I am a loser when it comes to obtaining obscure tracks.
