Is it true... Prince fired Jerome from his band when he appreared in Janet Jackson's "Control" video? | |

Um I don't think he was ever fired. Others were...like Bobby Z and Jimmy Jam...THEY worked on Janets Control Album. They had issues with Prince "Controling" them and their solo work. I think it was when they missed a performance due to a snow storm, he fined then fired them.

I don't think Prince ever fired Jerome. Under the Cherry moon was released in the summer of 1986 and a tour followed which included Jerome.
Janet Jackson's "Control" album was released in February of 1986, with the video being released before UTCM was, I believe. If Prince had a problem with Jerome's involvement, I think he would have fired him before the Parade tour. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion on the situation. Absolutely. 
He was an integral part of the Morris persona; with Prince he was so superfluous - had basically nothing to do. Speaking of Morris and Jerome, did anyone see them on "Eve" last night?? I guess Prince was jelous then that Jam and Lewis became a huge succses with janet and when Jerome joined 4 the vid, Prince maybe felt betrayed! Shame about his solo career, would of been interesting to c what it was like! | |
