you know, at last years Celebration, I was hanging out at the back of the soundstage, in the corner, by the doorway, and before I knew it Geneva was standing right next to me. Then, about 5 minutes later, P came over and just started chatting with Geneva. There he was...only about a yard 5 feet from me...my perfect chance, maybe my only chance, to ever say something to him. I kept looking over at him in the corner of my eye, and there he was with that outfit he sang "the work" in on Jay Leno, looking so cool. And I was frozen, and couldn't say anything.

I think it was a mixture of 1. being scared out of my wits, 2. respecting him enough to just let him be in an atmosphere where most people that saw him kept staring him down like he was a zoo animal and 3. just basking the glory of the fact that there he was, in my company, trusting me enough to come so close and be casual and comfortable. I felt like I didn't want to push my bounderies with him....oh, and his two body guards right across the way (lol) But like I said, I wish I would have tried to communicate. What would I have said? I'm not sure, other than "Hi" and then after that, I'm still not sure. Maybe I'll get another chance if I go again to Minnie this year, so I better start thinking about what I'm going to say!

It sounds like your getting warm...but did Prince look at you even one time???

Like you I never said anything to him...and TRIED to act like I didn't even notice but...it's hard acting casual when Prince is standing behind you or walking right past you! I practically walked right into him at one point...we did the whole left right left right thing and I felt like an ass! LOL I just said sorry and got out of his way I would suggest we don't say anything to the man uless you have the proper time to do so...leave the man alone for the most part, and please, try not to stare...I know it's hard but atleast get your peek in and look away. One thing I learned at the celelbrations was that I would not want to be prince during the celebration (I'm surprised he has it every year) cause he must feel like a zoo animal....folx will just stare hard at him for the whole evening...he'll even turn his back to folx as if to say STOP STARING! but it doesn't work poor guy. but hey maybe he loves it... who knows.
