P should cash in now with a new best of cd

Not another career spanning hits cd but a compilation that covers the best of say, 1994-2004. To me this makes sense because people are constantly calling Musicology a comeback and cleary this annoys him (going by his interviews).

But in fairness that's what most people are viewing it as. Everyone is usually suprised when I tell them he's been releasing music as much as ever during the last 10 years. Now he could prove it by releasing another best of compilation.

If it was just 1 cd, given the timing, I think a lot of the public would buy it. He could centre it mostly around albums such as The Gold Experience, Emancipation, The Truth, Rainbow Children, maybe some live stuff from ONA..LIVE!, and Musicology.

Naturally i doubt he will, but i'd definitely buy it - while he's made some great music in the 90's I feel there's a lot of filler and a best of would be perfect.

How about 1996-2004?
Warners & NPG Records don't mix well 2gether!

Rather than that, I think now is the perfect time for him to release Roadhouse Garden. The masses would eat it up, especially if marketed properly.

Tap the brake people.

Ya'll been smoking those purple cigarrettes again haven't ya? I know Prince is more popular than he' been in a long time, but one album at a timel. It's hard enough getting "the masses" to focus on his current album, much less these various "best of the org" dreams ya'll are coming up with.

I hate to tell you but the masses could care less about Roadhouse Garden. Prince wouldn't be all that interested in promoting 20 year old music and after the hardcore fans bought it up, that would be about it.

What Prince should do is concentrate on promoting the album that is on the charts now and worry about putting out more "best ofs" when he's ready to retire.

I ain't no mathematician but I don't think 1994-2004 equates to "20 year old music"

hmmm...not such a bad idea. I think he should probably make an album with the rare hits people hardly know about so they can be blown away & know what the deal is.

You don't have to be a mathematician to read.

Do you see where I was referring to Roadhouse Garden when I said 20 year old music.....

Reading is sooooo fundamental smile

Ok sorry for the dig, I didn't realise Roadhouse Garden was that old (but now find that very interesting). In fact I don't even have Roadhouse Garden yet though it wasn't me who suggested it.

He's only just released Musicology, another album so soon is unrealistic at this point, even a smaller-scale release, never mind a another promo-fest album like Musicology.
