from Dawnation.com:
"What/who is MADHOUSE? This jazz-rock fusion group starts basicly with the quartet of Prince, Sheila E., Eric Leeds and Levi Seacer, Jr. - later changed/added some musicians (from The NPG) like Sonny T. or Michael B. (aka 'The New Power Madhouse' in 1993/94). All songs are (mostly) written by Prince under the name Madhouse or co-written with Eric Leeds, Prince's long time friend, band member and musician (saxophone, flute)."

From Uptown magazine #45:
Y'all Want Some More? The Story of Madhouse The article Y'all Want Some More? traces the history of Madhouse, musically one of Prince's most interesting side projects, providing him with an outlet for some of his jazz-oriented funk and rock music. The project also served as a showcase for his talented saxophone player, Eric Leeds. This article studies 8 and 16, and reveals details of no less than three attempts at a third album. The article also touches on Prince's work with jazz legend Miles Davis, including an eyewitness account of Miles' visit in Prince's home studio in March 1987. Miles Davis even played some Madhouse during his live performances, telling his audience, "Prince wrote that." These are must have albums. Get them in your ears soon! Jasziah

Yep, grab it. It's from the golden-era of Prince music, and both released Madhouse LP's - 8 and 16 are well worthy of purchase, they are Prince albums as much as NEWS, or Xpectation are.
16 is my personal favourite.

Love 'em. Bought them when they were released originally. Never let go of them. Make me feel tiny if it makes you feel tall, but there's always someone cooler than you. - Ben Folds

Buy it if you can afford it, or get a burned CDR copy from someone. It's an essential chapter in Prince's musical history.
