The only thing that bugs me is the damn grammar. There ARE others here with us, Prince...not there IS others....sheesh.....must be his amputated foot that messes up his grammar....

He probably gets around the grammatical error in the title because its official title is believed to be, 'Others Here With Us' - but that still doesn't help you.
.

Right - that is still an unreleased bootleg and bootleggers get it wrong about 40% of the time.

Actually, here is how the song sounds.

It starts with what sound like wild birds chirping in a grave yard. Then you hear a little creepy synth line then these big ass drums kick in--shit sounds like a shovel banging against a crypt, then it starts with this high pitched squealing synth. Layers of creepy synth squeals, that keep changing. Like insane acid jazz or something. Prince's vocals are creepy and mysterious, with falsetto squeals and cries, like he sees ghosts or sometin. Song just gets louder and louder and the drums pound and pound.

Probably his most original song ever. This motherfucker invented goth.

Lyrics:

Others Here With Us

When I'm alone, my mind takes a drive
Through chocolate religion and spirits alive
All I was brought up in this world 2 know
Is lost when a demon swallows them whole

CHORUS:
There's others here with us
There's others here with us, I know

It's strange how your mind works when Love is in power
One learns 2 care and appreciate a flower
What makes others want 2 change your mind?
All the things I've seen, life is so sublime

CHORUS

7-month-old baby died in her sleep
The parents went crazy and cried 4 a week
They swore they heard her laugh in the crib by the wall
They're convinced she's with us if she's anything at all

There's others here with us
There's others here with us, I know (I know)

Bobby had an uncle who took a string
And wrapped his neck around it, a pitiful thing
If only we can turn back the hands of time
Except there's others here with us, life is sublime

There's others here with us
There's others here with us, I know (I know)

All the things I've seen {x2}

CHORUS

this isn't creepy. ain't he talking about angels here? (spirits, boddhisatvas, guides, etc.)

I've always thought this "song" was pretty lousy and I can see why he didn't release it.

It's not creepy in the least...to me.

Masterful? How did he manage to wrap his neck around a string? that is one hell of a long neck. I could understand how he could possibly wrap a string around his neck though. lol

Has anybody played this at night, alone, with the lights out? I wouldn't recommend it!

'Others Here With Us' was never included on any configuration of Dream Factory.
It's a Parade outtake.

Actually, that was Black Sabbath, but I see your point. This song is incredible, and its uber-creepy. I wish I had a decent recording of it! I wanna put it on my Halloween compilation.

Others here with us is about as scary as the Scooby Doo theme song. Dance with the devil is much darker.
