I 100% agree!! They had ALL of Dru Hill.. & Mariah carey and ALL of them couldn't hit the range or just raw power of Prince in that song.. *THAT is the worst cover I have heard in sometime... for one thing it is waaaaay to slow.. WOW did that suck it is easy to cover an MJ "J5" tune.. Mariah.. but you fell flat on your face when you "tried" to cover Prince | |

Barenaked Ladies do a verison of "When Doves Cry" live. It's on the internet. It made me mad it was so bad. Anybody hear 2Pac sampling Darling Nikki and 777-9311? He did a great job. Loved 2Pac! ______________________________________________

An early-'90s electronica band called "Acid Factor" recorded a house version of "When Doves Cry" that made my ears bleed.
Myself, I love the soundcheck boot of Prince doing a punk version of the song, "When Doves Scream". | |

I don't know if you guys ever heard it,but in 1982,The Pointer Sisters did a version of "I Feel For You",which appears on their album 'I'm So Excited'.Their version sounds bland and dull,and doesn't have nearly as much spark as Chaka Khan's version a few years later.
Interestingly,in 1984,the song "I Feel For You" appeared on several different albums. ***Rebbie Jackson's 'Centipede' debut album ***Chaka Khan's 'I Feel For You' album ***Joyce Kennedy's debut solo album I also know of an early-80s version done by Thelma Houston. | |
