If you could watch Prince record a song in the studio, which song would it be??

Of course, being able to at least watch him record ANY song would be nice, but if given a choice to watch him record a song in the studio, which would be it??

Do you prefer to see one where he records with his band or one where he does everything by himself, the instruments and the back-up vocals??

Three Chains Of Gold cause there is Such a Layering of different Instruments,Voices. It's a type of Bohemian Rhapsody. It's Operatic. I would Love to see how it was Created and also his what I Call X album with all the Instrumentation involved and Parade tunes would be fun ....Christopher Tracy's Parade.

I would want to go back to before he was confident that folks would get his music - back to when maybe he was constantly changing the music, wondering if folks would get it, and I'd like to watch while he recorded one of THOSE classics.

D.M.S.R. or Lady Cab Driver,

or, even earlier,

Head or Controversy. Especially knowing that he'd recorded those tunes as demoes that were accepted by WB and pressed as the final versions... I'm sure the creativity was flowing at a mind-boggling rate when he was sure that nobody would hear all that stuff.

I'm pretty sure it's a hard smack on a guitar amp. Take a guitar amp, turn the volume and reverb up, (that thing that makes it sound echoey), and then smack the amp. The reverb springs vibrate and make a noise like that.

We Can Funk-unreleased origin version.

I imagine he had the studio dark, lit with only candles etc....

yeah. I'd like to watch him record When Doves Cry. It's so experimental and yet so solidly funky.

yes LovesexY or 1999. The former because I just would have so loved 2 have sat in on those sessions, the latter because of the iconic song it became.
