Really it's all very mediocre. The best record would be Emancipation if it was one disk

and next would come Crystal Ball, both would be four star records. But as it is both are

two star records. Three star records of the 90’s are Gold Experience, Symbol and The

Truth. I like the Symbol record the most but it’s still a mess.

The truth
Come
The Gold Experience

I think Come and The Gold Experience should have been one big album, with some of Cristal ball track of the same period (Interactive, Days of wild...).

There is so much distance between the deep work and what comes to the public in the 90`s. Why did he hide "the Truth" in the bottom of Cristal Ball ? Such a pity...

GoldNigga was good also. It was more a NPG record, but there`s a lot of Prince`s work inside. Don`t misunderstand me, I really don`t like Tony M, but the band work and sound was great there (remember Deuce & a quarter, Call the Law or Johnny).

The Gold Experience certainly isn't my favourite of them, but I'd say as an album it's probably his best of the 90s. Despite the indifferent sales due to the record label wars he had some momentum with that record and all those live performances, tv specials, photos, everything. It was his last solid package as a concise outing, the last great Prince album perhaps.

Perhaps not. razz

My top 5 of the 90's:

1)The Gold Experience
2)The Truth
3)Grafitti Bridge
4)Chaos & Disorder
5)Emancipation
6)Symbol

Okay so that's 6, but these are all good albums, and the first 3 in my top 10 Prince albums regardless of the decade.

Have to say the Symbol album, though I think it's uneven.
But the last album that sounds like old Prince is Graffiti Bridge, which gives it a lot of weight.

The Gold Experience
Love Symbol
Emancipation
Crystal Ball
Rave

D & P is one of my least favorite. And like some1 else said, there are a few good songs on GB, but those songs are really good. JIR and ? of U are among his best songs ever.
