Also if you are just doing something you do every day (Work, school etc.) and some scene from a Prince Music Video/Film etc. comes to mind and you start laughing/giggling. Expecially when you weren't even thinking about him.--That happend to me today. in choir. We were even singing another song! And I started laughing, and since this choir is a piece of shit and most of them are tone deaf, the seem to follow me(It sounds egotistical, I know, but it's true! You'd have to be there) so if I stop... well yeah.

...when you're at the store and you look at the cover of a magazine and it has random words that immediately make you think of prince--f'rinstance, i was at a bookstore about a month or two ago. i was waitin in line to pay for a dvd or somethin that i bought and i was lookin at the magazines they had on display at the front counter. there was this issue of essence magazine that had the words, "7 moves to a sexy dancer's body" or somethin like that. i only remember the "sexy dancer's body" bit.

i tried my damndest not to start hummin "sd" or start laughin.

When you start getting into John Prine.

also when co-workers start to ask can they buy concert tickets through you to avoid the hassle of ticketmaster.....

and when friends start to call u up everytime a prince interview or performance is on to make sure u don't miss it....

and when friends call u up on their cell while they are at the store to tell you of a prince article you may not have known about and to also see if u want them to pick it up 4 u....

and also when u start to fuck up at work and co-workers start to ask you "damn u must have forgot your prince cd's today huh?".....

when people know u luv prince so much that when u bring him up they try to say the meanest most ignorant thing that they can say leaving u to defend him like u talk to him on the regular telling people "if u can't say anything nice about Prince around me, then don't say it at all".

When people call you up and congradulate YOU for Prince having the number 3 album in the country!!!

okay this is my last post, as ya'll can see, i got major prince issues...

When you get a letter in the mail from a friend you haven't heard from in FIVE YEARS...and the letter reads:

"Did you catch Prince at the latest Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame induction?! You know, I've never been a big Prince fan; maybe it's something to do with all the ruffles and pegged pants legs, although I've always thought his music was okay, just not my cup of tea, and respected him as a multi-faceted musician...

"But I happened to catch his guitar solo during "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Well, he stole the fucking show! I mean, what a solo! If you haven't seen it, find it, watch it. It was amazing! Of course by the time I received this letter, I had the R&R Hall of Fame solo on VHS, DVD, CD and MP3, and was distributing it to the four corners of the earth.

when the phone rings in the middle of the night and it's a call from one of your grown kids. They're out with friends, after heavy exams at law school, or on leave from the military and they need you to verify some Prince fact or admit to some experience at Paisley Park. There is usually someone nearby who gets on the phone, apologizes for waking me up and then proceeds to ask questions about Prince and or Paisley Park. They want 'proof' that whatever one of these kids is saying is true. I always have to laugh, it strikes me odd and i find it funny in those wee hours of the night. Theres always this sense of urgency, this need to know.....

When you are in a queue (line) in a Post Office in London (I'm from England) with Musicology on your discman and you see that the person in front of you is addressing an envelope to Minneapolis and you actually get exicted by the coincidence and tell your girlfriend that night who then looks at you as if to say "get some help"

when your mom calls you everytime she goes into Sam Goody and sees a new Prince box she never saw before... hey there's a big box down here with Prince's face on it he has on a suit and hat and it says One Nite Alone Live, do you already have this? Yes ma. What about this DVD it says Live at the Aladdin do you already have this? Yes ma. She even does it with the old cds. Sometimes when something new comes out she doesn't even buy it because she just assumes I already have it.

Random Prince-related emails from friends. It's so nice when people associate you with something you love. Let's you know that they're thinking about you.

...You see Prince on TV & u get excited because it feels like a family member is on TV.

Or when someone is shopping at a record store in the Prince section & you start giving advice or soliciting trades.
