Glam Slam Boogie - the 1994 track

How cool was this? I was listening to the classic Stars And Bars show yesterday (May 4, 1994), where they played this track and incorporated lyrics from I'm In The Mood. Very fun groove - I could listen to it for ages. I'm sure a studio version wouldn't sound nearly as cool. I'd love P to put up a live 10-minute version for 77c, though...

Anyone else like this? Can anyone give any information on this track? Why was it called Glam Slam Boogie? Was a studio version ever made?

hey Stars and Bars in permanently in my car, i play that guitar intro [before the 'Ride'] to death! and as for that solo on Dark!!. Anyway the track you are talking about, if i'm right, was the original version of Gett Off or at least a remix of it and was played on the Radio show that Prince and the NPG took over. On that show he played loads of his faves.

Nope. That was Glam Slam '91.

Glam Slam Boogie was the name of the track played after I Believe In You, and before Peach. "Don't ya'll gotta work tomorrow? Oh, I see, we're in Monte Carlo, everyone just chill here..." etc. It's mislabeled as I'm In The Mood, because he sings some lyrics from that, but he's called it Glam Slam Boogie on other occasions in both 1994 and 1995.

Incidentally, it was while playing that solo on Dark very loud while driving back to San Diego after the May 4th 2001 show in LA (since he didn't play an aftershow, this was my aftershow) that I was pulled over for speeding...

My only speeding ticket, and I think of it every time I hear this solo...

That was the last time I saw P play live - only 3 1/2 months until my next show. August 17th in Boston.
