I read this on one of the forums today and i was really shocked.I believe my eyes....not that i dont believe it can happen,but can anyone varify this 4 me? Or has any one heard about this also???

nope..after this weeks numbers come in he will have SOLD about 275,000 to date . This does not count concert "give aways"

as of right now 74,334 copies sold this week. this does not reflect cds distributed at shows. the final figures are not yet in but it is safe to say that the figures you saw were exagerated. unless, of course, they are world sales figures. that might be a possible figure if it includes the whole world.

You know , this might b a close figure when u consider world sales! Musicology is no 2 on the World Album Chart which means that globally its doing rather well! Its top five in most european countries, charting as high as no 2 no 3 in around half a dozen including the UK, where it has sold close to 50,000 copies in two weeks! It is also doing well in Australia, Canada and South America, its No 4 in Germany which is one of the worlds biggest CD markets, so it must have sold at least 50,000 there in its first week, in France/Belgium a similar story!

So when combined with the sales of 192,000 1st in the US, and 150,000 (Unofficial at the mo) thats 340,000 in the US alone!

It has easily sold over 600,000 worldwide and probably shipped close to a million! And this is only WEEK 2 of RELEASE! Once the tour is over in America it may have sold a million there, and once it hits Europe and the rest of the world possibly another several million!

Diamonds and Pearls better watch out!

FunkyBrotha i see u've been doing your homework,and that sounds about right if those stats u said are right. I told a few people if this album sells half way decent and the next album is radio friendly and just a lil' mo' funky Prince will sho' nuff be back on top 4 a long while.
