"All Day, All Night"?

This song definitely sounds like it's from the days of The Revolution, but does anyone have any more information about it? I just discovered this song, and I love it.

It was written by Prince, and his version is circulating, which is what you probably heard. It was released on Jill Jones' self-titled LP in 1987. And her version ain't bad, either. smile

The lyrics are very erotic, I love Jill's vocal delivery.

"All Day, All Night" is a late '83 / early '84 outtake.
Also played live by Prince & The Revolution at the '84 birthday-gig in First Ave (which is in excellent quality on Sabotage's new release "Purple Rush 5").

Both are good, but Prince's version is the shit.

Prince's versions of G-spot and All Day All Night rule ! I think I prefer Jill's version of
"baby youre a trip" though , Prince's vocals on that are a bit too weird for me

Gotta agree on that one. Some songs he just does better with his own voice. This is one of the better examples. There's also some (crappy) video footage where he is playing a rehersal. The sound is even crappier...but the performance is good. I always imagine him doing the splits and dancing crazy when I hear that song. One of my favorite outtakes.

The other song that was given to Jill and is circulating is His version of G-Spot. Also better that Jill.

Oh and good luck trying to find Jill Jones CD. They are very rare.

I think that this live version was used as the basis for the Jill Jones track, sans P's vox.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I always thought this live version comes close to the JJ version ....
I never thought the live version was used to make the JJ version ....
I'm gonna give it a good listen tonight!
