Oh dear God no. shake

Batman....a great album?! lol

It's just an album full of throw away pop and mindless filler. The whole thing just sounds like Prince wanting to make a guaranteed hit without exerting any energy.

Sure, there's a few gems like with any other Prince album. Scandalous, Vicki Waiting, Electric Chair, and Batdance come to mind.

But really, it's just full of filler songs that are totally beneath the talent of a musical genius.

Partyman, The Future, Trust, Arms of Orion, etc.

Songs like this off it sound like Prince didn't even put any effort into making them. They just sound like completely forgettable fluff.

Your opinion and all, but I think a 90's album like TGE stomps the HELL out of Batman.

People are wrong to copare this with P's other work.....this album was not about Prince....it was about a movie. If you look at the album for what it was supposed to be.....it is an excellent album. Prince wasn't trying to sound like everything he'd already done, he was trying to take the listener to a different place and time for a fantasy movie!!!!! These sings didn't sound quite like anything around in 1989, mission accomplished. Quick story.....I was at Six Flags in St. Louis about three years ago when I decided to ride the roller coaster BATMAN. Well, the theming for the ride was excellent, really took you back to the movie. But what was really cool was they were playing P's album while you waited in line...and all I can say is WOW, it went perfectly with the overall theme. People were bobbing their heads everywhere dusing the 30 minute wait. Hell, I even saw one kid who was probably about 15 years old ask the ride operator about the music. ONCE AGAIN...take this album for what it was.....an excellent attempt at taking listeners to a different place, GOTHAM CITY.

I like the rather crude joke on "Vicki vale"! U know then she replies "Vicki didn't laugh at all"! What a surprise!.....

When I was young, I didn't quite understand the joke, but when I picked up the song years later (it had been years since I heard it), I understood it and it still is funny! Though maybe only certain people would find that funny, did u?

I know the joke well, it made me laugh then and it still makes me laugh now. I was listening to Prince in the car with a passenger that is not a Prince fan at all (hey it's my radio, right?)
When my friend heard that joke, made him laugh out loud! He commented about it, he never saw it coming!
On another note.....I will be at Staples Center in exactly one week!!! May 28th!! Happy to be me razz

All you purple hippies bang your head on the one!!
