I don't think it's the age, or height, or even the acting(I won't even get into that. ) I think really it's about:

A. If they asked Prince, I think he'd turn 'em down. I think he's too busy with everything else going on you know?

B. Andre looks more like Jimi. Simple as that.

C. Also the "kids" of today will recognise Andre more than Prince. So, just because Andre's Jimi, that will make more "kids" want to go, and the more people go the more money they get hm? (Why did I put quotation Marks around Kids? Maybe 'cause I'd be considered one of the "kids" lol)

Anyways. I'd be incredibly amused if Prince played Jimi. I really would. I don't think I'd be able to stop laughing just because I'm like that. (I'm a person who laughs at their favorite character in a movie, when they are getting beaten up etc. )

1 - P is too short

2 - P is touring the world...and doesn't have the time to do a movie

3 - Isn't it a bit too close in music/influence for P to be doing it. I think it be like a step down to play Hendrix...it's not a dis to Jimi, but more a prop to Prince.. Personaly, I think P has surpassed some of this influences in many areas (playing, writing and producing).

OK. Let Andre play Hendrix and Prince play the music. I will be happy with that.

Andre is the best choice, for the role of Jimi Hendrix, because of his height and facial similarities.

Why would Prince play Jimi?Prince is 45 years old. He is a legend himself. If this were about 20 years ago I could see that,but not now.

Fishburne was supposed to play Jimi years ago. He would have been perfect to me.Same type build,same skin shade,similar features,and LF is a serious actor that could pull it off with fire. Since his Reloads and Revolutions,however,his girth has grown and cannot pull of the flowery shirts and tight leather trousers. What a shame.

Andre may pull it off. I'm just surprised they didn't get Leon again .Leon has played everyone and their momma's pimp/bisexual boyfriend w/any musical inclination.

That being said, I think Andre could at least pull it off better than that dude they had playing Jimi in that cable movie a couple years ago.

I'll believe the Hendrix movie when I see it. They been promising a Hendrix movie for years. Everybody and they momma was suppose to play Hendrix at some point.

Why is everyone harping on the fact that Prince doesn't look like Jimi? Hell, Angela Bassett played Tina Turner and she looks nothing like her.
