Which Prince albums do you actually listen straight through...

...and albums where you just choose some songs you like from it and listen to only those??

And please only mention the studio albums, no greatest hits or live hits compilation....

I listen (straight through) to all albums released from 1978 through 1987 with the exception of Purple Rain. Everything else something gets skipped.

Prince
Controversy
Dirty Mind
Purple Rain
Sign 'O' the Times
The Gold Experience
Emancipation
Parade
Musicology

I had to take 1999 off the list cause I forgot how irritated I get by Delirious. Damn, one single song stops it from playing all the way through.

Lovesexy. Cause you kinda don't have a choice.

Oh trust me, that STILL pisses me off. Such a stupid idea by the Kid. neutral

All of 'em, pretty much.

...skip right the wrong on C&D, the title track on Graffiti Bridge and everyday is a winding road on Rave, but that's about it.

I can even tolerate jughead if I force myself to. smile

I think that 'parade' is prince's most concise album, in regard to its tracking order. it just flows effortlessly

Okay, here me out on this one before lynching me...

I'm not sure that I can listen to ANY Prince album straight through on a regular basis. And I don't mean this to be a negative thing. Prince has experimented with so many unique styles and attempted so many different things that most of his albums (though I know not ALL), tend to reflect more than one vibe. I'll be in the mood for stuff like "Billy Jack Bitch," so on that day, I'm skipping "Shhh" straight away. Doesn't mean I don't like "Shhh." It's just a totally different tone (in addition to the obvious, which is the pace of the song and what you're in the mood for).

If I HAD to choose, I'd say that I find myself listening to PARADE and PURPLE RAIN straight through the most, but I've even found myself skipping right to "Mountains" on Parade and listening through to the end of the disc lately.

Sometimes, the only time I don't skip is when I can't get my finger to the button. But it's all good, because there's lots to sort through!
