Somebody is managing him, he ain't calling up the Today Show and booking interviews himself. he ain't negotiating with Columbia himself. He ain't typing out the rider himself. Somebody's doing this stuff. Londell may even be acting in a manager/lawyer capacity, but one thing's certain, he ain't getting paid by the hour. He's making a percentage.

Even if Warners does own the masters of earlier work....HE STILL GETS MILLIONS from that alone. His back catalog is still selling in major retail outlets. The only time I've heard of him "being in financial trouble" was around the LoveSexy Period. He lost a lot of money on the expensive production of those shows and the album wasn't selling. Warners had to recoupe the money they advanced him. He made that money back quickly with his next album and touring. Currently, Prince has sold less, but made more$$$$$ than you average artist because he gets at least 80% of the profits from his cd sales alone. He cut out the middle man. Albums you think are failures made him a ton of money ie, "Emancipation" and "The Crystal Ball" He's got millions in sales from NPGMC and counting. Prince could fart on cd and just tour and he would come out a millionaire. Even this deal with Sony, he made sure he is still getting the lions share of the profits from this project, which he's made millions on already. Add the money from what he is still getting from Warners royalties plus his last couple of projects and this major popularity serge.

The man put a huge rock on his wifes finger, he still gets his clothes custom made, and he's got multi-million dollar property in Toronto, Minn., and Hawaii. Plus I'm sure he pays Londell ans his band well. You can't do all this stuff by only making a few dollars. Whatever monies he had to pay Warners or anyone else was taken care of a long time ago. Prince is on top, he's just got too much class to brag about it.

First off, the man is wealthy. Although he doesn't own the master recordings, he is the sole owner to the copyrights which is totally different. Its really stupid to think that he will ever be destitute; not going to happen. He can generate revenue by strctly doing nothing.

Lastly, when Prince books something, like the grammy awards, his guitar tech, tackumi (sp) was the one who worked out the logistics and was the liason between the director and P. If contracts/agreements were to be signed, i'm sure Londell or one of his staff is there to perform such tasks
