who do like better prince or stevie wonder?

who do u like better prince or stevie wonder? well prince has prettier songs and more funkier tunes. prince music sounds like it's being played for heaven while stevie wonder sounds like it's being channeled from heaven not to take anything from prince though also each muscical type evokes different moods as well! both of them the very best though stevie because he's blind slightly has the edge...
Do it like she like it !

Not necessarily.

stevie because he's blind slightly has the edge...

Methinks you should base an edge on something else.

I've never met either of them so I can't say who I like better. But I'm sure they're both simply delightful people.

Those 2 are the top Black artists in the history of music. But I choose Prince because he is not only edgier(Stevie tends to play it so safe) but Prince has ventured more into different forms of music.

Of course I'm going to say Prince, however I LOVE Stevie. As nice a voice Prince has, he can not even touch Stevies vocals

Stevie Wonder's voice is an instrument unto itself.

I've struggled with this question for two decades now. Stevie always wins. (Sorry P, you know you are The Man, tho wink It's close but, like somebody else said, Stevie's voice is a whole 'nuther kind of instrument. Prince's vocals are amazing, too. But Stevie can go low and high with uncanny POWER to go with it, unlike anybody else.
We're talking about two all-time giants in the history of popular music. They are both multi-instrumentalists, innovators, masters of multiple styles of music, Grammy winners, chart-toppers, etc.
And it's cool that they know each other and hang out now and again, too.
Great question.

I think on a purely musical level it has to be Stevie. 'songs in the key of life', 'talking book', 'innervisions', 'music of my mind', 'hotter than july'..

Personally i prefer Prince because everything about the man is so interesting. He's constantly changing, and you never know what he's gonna do next. Being a prince fan is the craziest rollarcoster ride there is! smile

This is prince.org isn't it?

Seriously, Stevie is an amazingly talented musician. You can really feel the love and soul on his records. But for my tastes, he is a little too smultchy at times. Prince delievers that mystery and boldness that Stevie lacks.

They are both two of my favorite musicians, but I have to give the edge to Prince. Prince has some essentials that Stevie lacks, ie. Guitar Prowess, and Prince's live performances are incredible. Although Stevie is a hell of a live performer in his own right, Prince dances as well as playing multiple intsruments/singing and has a stage prescence that is unlike any other musician I've seen in a live setting. The show I witnessed last night in Atlanta reaffirmed Prince's peerless genius. Prince is miles ahead of everyone.

OK, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and presume that while you know what our initial answers will be, that it's aactualy the reasons that you're trying to get.

I have always found Stevie dull. Sorry, I know that will bother a lot of people and I know folk look at my record collection and ask me how I can't like Stevie. I don't know why but he just leaves me cold. Sure, I love "Superstition" but that's about it. I have given him a fair listening and I have honestly tried to get into him but it just hasn't happened.

Prince, well, you know.

during the mid 70s stevie gave us some wonderful albums, rich in melody and emotion - that was his time. Prince never quite comes close to emulating Wonder in his melodic writing, and more often just seems to use that simple motif formula and squeeze everything out of it (Beautiful Girl in the world, cream, girls and boys) using all his tricks (multitracked vocals, and an onslaught of instruments).

I went through a period of being totally into songs off songs in the key of life, finale, secret life of plants, talking book, hotter than july - even when Prince was in his heyday 83-87, and remember thinking if only Prince could write some songs like this....(condition of the heart, free didnt give the same lift as Heaven is a zilllion lights years away)

But Prince something so special, unique and versatile. I think it comes to having more concentration to appreciate Prince, because you feel you have to get into his state of mind to appreciate was he is playing, as there is so much going on and it all interlinks.
