Worst video: Betcha By Golly Wow. (More like Betcha couldn't find a more cheesy video for a cheesy song...horrible!)

Best video: The very little seen "Anotherloverholenyohead"! One of the best live performances of the Revolution at their peak! ("America" video is a close, close second.)

Best Prince Video---"Batdance" because it has ALL the ingredients of a killer music video.....stunning costumes,cool choreography,long guitar solo,an obviously huge budget,and a intriguing "good vs.evil" plot.Hell,this video probably made even Michael Jackson green with envy:)

Worst Prince Video---"Thieves In The Temple" because Prince's outfit is just plain ridiculous.Even worse,this video was simply lifted straight from the 'GB' film! It's almost as if he was too lazy (or too tired?) to make a REAL video for this song.

on the whole i think prince videos r pretty mediocore, they look like rush jobs, all filmed at the paisley park soundstage while prince was taking a break from recording.
their only saving grace is prince shaking his sexy ass in them, hence all videos where i don't get 2 c prince, r his absolute worst.

I thought come on was kinda interesting.. how they staged the NPG to mess with old man P on the streets. But for totally HORRIBLE videos... it is a tie with INSATIABLE and BETCHA GOLLY WOW! They are actually quite scary to me... make me wanna watch 'black or white' by MJ instead.

Good topic! For worst video, I would have to go with "Come On"- it's pretty embarassing! Best- "Girls and Boys" is just so slick!

Worst: When 2 R In Love - Come on, man! You can do better than scrolling words across the screen

2nd Worst: Betcha By Golly Wow - For the sheer poor acting. I mean do we really need to see Mayte at the OB/GYN's office? Plus hearing Prince say "golly" just doesn't sit right with me. Like hearing Days Of Wild without the curse words.

3rd Worst: Dolphin - Love the song, but the video is kinda dumb. Why is young thomas barbarella playing keyboards on the bed? Plus they're all staring at me, and it makes me feel uncomfortable. Like I'm some kind of freak. Dear God MAKE THE NPG STOP STARING AT ME!

Dishonorable Mention: "They gonna be in my version of the video!" Please! Who taught him how to act???


Best: Most of them are good, but the one that I really like and play over and over is Scandalous. Just cuz its nasty.

Better: I Could Never Take The Place. I know its just cut from the SOTT movie, but its such a good song, and it gets even better done live. Each of the instruments comes alive. Sheila's Drums at the very beginning, Boni on keys, the horns, not to mention of course the excellent guitar solos.

Good: The 4 Vids from 1999. No pretense, no BS, just him and the band playing the songs, dancing and having fun.

Fav - Violet the organgrinder ) .....least Fav - Money dont matter 2nite..... no reason, just my opinion, NOT fact hehe ..or is it ?????

All of them are tied or worst, except The Greatest Romance, Dinner With Delores, and the Money Don't Matter 2 Night video that Spike Lee did pure (not the one w/ the casino).

He seems to have ploughed more money, time and effort into his music making than his videos. Which is the way it should be right?

Rather than good directing his good videos have tended to rely on his charisma and magnetism to pull them through.

NO WAY regarding "willing and able", that's one of the best because it's live and it's just him with the band. Great video, not overdone like his other videos which sometimes make you puke because it's too "showy". I just want the music!

How did DVS get down with Prince and The NPG? He makes Tony M sound like Rakim.

I don't dig the D'Angelo disses in the song and video.

The same for SOTT.

I thought he was on to something real cool with Partyman, very light, very comical.

Also dug Mountains, but that might just be because I like the song so much. Anotherloverholenyohead was tight, too. Miss that video...

Best:

I nearly had a nervous breakdown the first time I saw the video for "4 the Tears In Your Eyes", and I still think it's a beautiful video. Prince looks pretty, Wendy looks pretty, Lisa looks pretty, the film - pretty, the re-recorded version of the song - pretty. It's my personal favorite video of his.

I also dig the "Mountains" video and "Alphabet Street", cheesy as it may be. "Glam Slam" is also fun to watch, and the videos from the "Batman" soundtrack were a hoot. The extended "Thieves in the Temple" is another favorite video of mine, whatever the hell he's going on about with the clothes and the "whogotthepartywhogotthepartyWHO?" stuff...

Worst:

Hate to say it, but there's so many. The VERY worst has to be the one where he's dressed up like Grady from "Sanford and Son" - cheap, shoddy, and WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!

Some I dislike just because of how vapid and bland they were - "Cream" comes to mind.

Some were just embarrassing. Anything involving Tommy Barbarella doing hairflips could fall into this category.

Another great video is "U Got The Look".I love the choreography,and having Sheena,and a barely-clad Cat and Sheila all onstage at the same time,was just too much to take...lol...

A disappointing video was "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World".Prince looks way too androgynous in that one,with that silly Liza Minneli haircut and too much eyeliner and make-up.Perhaps HE was trying to be "beautiful",too?

Best has to be Spike Lee's version of Money Don’t Matter 2 Night – P’s own version was pretty good too, nice intimate vibe.

The Batman ones were all good too – actually spending a bit of money on them helped, and Partyman had a nice light touch.

Too many candidates for worst:

all those cheap and nasty one’s where it is just him miming to a track with no thought put in at all – we can buy SOTT or Lovesexy videos to see him performing
