huh? where the hell did this thread come from? all these threads r multiplying like rabbits on speed! i can't keep up!


anyway, my favourtie look is from SOTT or lovesexy era. as 4 the worst, it would have 2 b the NPS look (everything about that album sucked). those highlights-what was he thinking!

I like all the ouitfits he wore from late '84 thru '87 and the double breasted suits from '88 &'89.

I love the Rave Un2 the Y2K-look, especially at the end there, when he put on the headscarf and did Greatest Romance and Baby Knows. Very Nice.

Part from that, I dig the Parade era with the paisley body-suits, Scandalous-video and D&M.

Not too crazy for the way he looked during the interview with bushy-head-mulatto-Mel. Looked like he just got out of bed or three days straight in the studio. Oh, but the way he looks in the footage from God is Alive with Mavis is thrilling beautiful!

Another thing is the look from The Sacrifice of Victor/The Undertaker/Come circa 1993. Gave me the Michael Jackson.

Oh, oh, and I have got to mention the dance-sequence from Under the Cherry Moon, with Mary Sharon on the deck of Le Pavillon: yeeah...

... although he moved his body around like a hippo in high heels, what's up with that?!

His 1986 look and his 1995 look are tops for me, and his new look is OK, too.
I like him best with short hair and as little facial hair as possible. So you can imagine what I think about the 1990 look...

Definetly not when he wore that red stuff in the pic above, it would have to be Gett Off era and 1998, in London, he looked liked he was dying to burst into Sexy M.F or something. Funky Muva!

B Purple Again!

There is this poster where he has his hand in his hair and the sun is shining on his long dark hair. He is wearing a black shirt on that poster. He lookes incredibly cute on it. I could stare at it for hours. I think it's from the Lovesexy period, because his hair is quite long. He looks like he does in the Alphabet St video. Not too much make up which makes his dreamy looking eyes come out really good. WOW!

I'm with you on Lovesexy - but I just remember being totally bowled over by the Thieves in the Temple video which I first saw when I went to see the Nude Tour - how sexy??? And now, he looks coolest when he looks natural. Stick with the longer hair, definitely, and to see him all in black at soundchecks and stuff, he is one sexy MF!!!

I think he looked amazing at the American Music Awards, when he was honoured with the "merit" award, I think thats what it's called, when Nona Gaye presented the award.. when he did the purple medly...

I think he looked gorgeous then... , but yea, he definitely had the sex appeal during lovesexy.... those hips.. when he sang when doves cry, in that concert in France, on the lovesexy video... oh my gawd!!!

For costuming, I go with the following-

1. Lovesexy- my favorite era bar none! The costumes from this time period were wild, flashy and daring. All the things that make Prince so damn cool anyway!

2. Emancipation/jam of the year/ New power soul- some truly tight outfits in this time period!

3. Diamonds and Pearls- The dude just looked CLEAN! (unfortunatley, I didn't much care for the looks he had for the rest of the band).

4. Rave- Didn't much dig the album, but the clothes were killer!

5. Parade/Cherry Moon- Paisley everywhere! Too Cool!

Now, for his hair, I have to go with a slightly altered list:

1. Sign O The Times- This 'do was the coolest! Classic Prince!

2. D&P- The Typhoon! Slick and stylish!

3. The Gold Experience- CLEAN!

4. Rave- An improved, more stylish version of his Lovesexy/Batman/Graphiti Bridge long hair

5. current- I'm diggin' the new 'do!

It's SO DAMN HARD to pick just ONE fave look, cuz he's had so many good ones...

Believe it or not, I LOVE the Dirty Mind look from back in the day....YES he was scruffy looking.....YES he looked unkept and unclean...but for some reason, that made him look SOOOOO sexy ...so PRIMAL..like he was a sexual creature emerging from the deep waiting to attack! I love it...I forgot who said it (sorry) but I cosign with the person who said she saw the picture on the DM inner sleeve and wanted to jump on his azz.....the bikini briefs??? lawd LAWD LAAAAWD!!! Dont get me started.

My SECOND fave look is the EXACT opposite.....PARADE/UTCM...who knew he could go from scruffy to slick and STILL look so damn good? That TUXEDO and those FINGER FINGER waves????? Sends me over the edge every time I watch that movie. Only FOUR words can clearly describe his look during this period: SO FRESH, SO CLEAN...

My THIRD fave look is of course, the Batman/Graffiti Bridge era. whew, that long hair, beard, and those tight azz pants he was wearing (I'm thinking Nude Tour Tokyo video here if U dont have it, COP IT!) were just TOO MUCH.....

Thats a tough one, I think the Gold Experience look was preety good and the Emancipation era!!

The Parade look is the coolest. With the Red suit and stripes on his face.

Charlie is right; that fonky green suit he wore during the filming of UTTCM was awsome.

Am I am the only person who thinks his Batman look is awesome? Look at his hair and clothes from the Batman era. He looked great! Long, smooth hair, clean shaven face, those high-waist pants. He looked wonderful
