Prince CAN ACT , he proved so in Purple Rain and also EVERY SINGLE TIME HE TAKES A STAGE. U.T.C.M and Grafitti Bridge were so bad because he fired directers and tries to direct himself. That was a very bad move. He would have done a great job as Hendrix. | |

Andre is tall and lanky, as was Hendrix. Andre even kinda looks like Jimi.

Maybe the movie won't be focusing on the music as much as the person? Andre looks quite a bit more like Hendrix; though, of course, Prince can imitiate Hendrix on guitar better than anyone.
And Prince can act -- given half the chance -- with a decent director. | |

Prince should Play some other Artist. Look at Madonna with EVITA! That would be the Best Prince playing some Jazz Great or what about Prince portraying RICHARD PRYOR? Prince should do some film where he can Really Sink his Teeth into the Part. Even maybe playing SLY STONE. If you ever take the time to read ANY of the many bio's written about Prince, you will discover that Prince underwent countless hours of acting, dance, and voice coaching in preparation for his role in Purple Rain. This is why there is a two year lapse between the release of 1999 and the Purple Rain soundtrack. I think Prince did a fine job and so did the majority of that era's movie critics, the Acadamy Award people, and the MILLIONS of people who went to see the film and bought the soundtrack. although when it comes to P you never say never, I just cannot see P play Jimi in a film. -"If U don't like,

I think apart from the fact Prince can play guitar well it wouldnt be a good choice.
For reasons allready mentioned ,Andre looks more like Hendrix,Prince is just to well known,his acting has been suspect,he is about 17-18 years older than when Jimi died. I doubt Prince would do it anyhow. I do think Prince should be given another acting chance as I think his acting got better Purple Rain is pretty bad acting UTCM is ok and GB quite good though the content of the film isnt so great. It would be good if he did a film that wasnt Prince being Prince. | |

Ye I'd like to see him in another film just one that isnt connected to music so much. I kinda think the fact that Prince don't swear and is very religious these days may affect some of the parts he would play,as I would imagine acting out Jimi would require a bit of swearing maybes getting high shaggin groupies or whatever and I don't think Prince would wanna do that type of think,but whos knows. | |
