A Million days There hasn't been a prince song that touched me the way this have every since I would die 4 u. The melody is very haunting, the words are so beautiful, if I hear it live I know it will just bring me tears. This is one of my fav on the album. I think it's excellent work. It captured that one emotion each of us has experience once in our life or eventualy will. I also think this song woudl do well as a single.

Ditto! This song made me emotional the first time I heard it and it still moves me. The sound of it reminds me a bit of Dolphin from Gold Experience, which I also loved. This is definitely my fave on this CD, followed by The Marrying Kind.

A Million Days would be perfect if it weren't for it going all 3 Chains of Gold on us for about 10 seconds toward the end of the song.

"A Million Days" is that classic style that represents Princes ability to pen a perfect song. It covers every aspect of his strengths in one track. Songwriting, melody, vocals, guitar, and an amazing ability to convey the emotion behind the inspiration for the track. Why oh why isn't this a single ???? I could just see a quality video clip for this song being a massive Prince classic. But , alas, we know all too well his single release choices fall short of logical. It'll probably end up being one of those gems that only we hear, and that masses miss out on again....such a shame. What a great song.

"a millions days" lacks that little spark that makes a great song. It's not bad at all but the great vibration that emanates from classics such as "ICNTTPOYM" is simply missing.
IMO. | |

i find "a million days" moving too. musically, it's dolphin meets "into the light". but it's lyrics and emotional drive are what give it its great impact. "i didn't have the heart to say i'm sorry, now i haven't got a hear at all..." wow!!! i also love the classic prince reference in that other line, in which he implies that his best friend is also his lover that has gone away. echoes "if i was your girlfriend" - makes me say, yes, this is prince. we know him. and we love him.
