Cinammon Girl - of fixed/mixed heritage?

I was just listening to this song and he seems to say "of fixed heritage", but the lyric book states "of mixed heritage"

Is this a mistake? Is he sitting on the fence? Has he done it so people like me can put post on prince.org and try to start discussions about it?

And what's the significance of using the different words?

Oh my?

I assumed that he said "mixed heritage" because that's the normally used phrase.

However, I just listened and it does sound like "fixed heritage"

Maybe he's emphasizing that this woman is a victim due to a natural birth trait that she can't even change.

It only sounds like "fixed' becaused the letter f from the word "of" is kinda carried over, thats all. wink
