Yeah he's doin' great.
But some of that dancing was embarrasing...
And why did he break up songs to let the audience sing. Damn it. I hate that. I wanted to hear him sing all those lines in Cream!

wow the audience seemed really in to him ... eyes shining and everything .....

The accoustic part was cool, but the two songs off of Musicology were sooo fucking boring. It was actually making me drowsy. The accoustic set was more exciting.

Dude, I honestly feel sorry for you. You have to gripe about everything. You would probably complain about someone giving you a million dollars. I usually ignore your posts and overlook your comments, but today its really lame. Your daily complaints give me the same feeling that u claim the Musicology tracks gave you. I'm still trying to figure out why you come here to gripe about EVERYTHING. Is your life that empty? So empty that you complain about everything Prince does? I have no problem with people having an opinion but when people have to criticize every little thing, no matter how insignificant it is, I start wondering about their sanity. What's wrong EWM, why are u so bitter? Is your life that empty?

did vh1 classic air the entire show including life of the party, soul man and kiss? its in my digital line up and the quality was superier but i noticed that it was a few minutes ahead of the non digital channels and i would have missed the beginning of the acoustic set.

No, VH1 Classic showed what the other MTV channels did, but with less commercials (only 1 per break), and their show ended at 9:22, which allowed them to show the Musicology & Raspberry Beret videos
If I want your opinion, I'll beat it outta ya!

My life is quite full actually, thanks for your concern.

Prince just happens to be doing a lot of shit I don't like. If I like it, I'll admit it, but I'll also say what I don't like. If Prince turned completely around and started doing some great songs again, I'd be more positive.

So stop feeling sorry, it's a waste of time.

And remember what you consider "truning around and doing some great songs again" is subjective. It's an opinion, your personal taste.

So the Mtv2 performance didn't have 'life of the party', 'soul man' or 'kiss'? Just curious which channel played those songs? thanks,

well, I did think the performance was Ok
and the acoustic set great.

But I can totally understand why someone would think the Musicology songs were "boring."

Prince has given much more kinetic performances. It was a bit sedating at the beginning and I was worried that it would be too calm for the audience ... I thought 'oh lawd!' ... but they stayed with him and seemed to dig it....

I'd have preferred a different song instead of Dr. Mister Man-- ICPC would have been great!!

...hmmm...had most of you been there, you would have been grooving along with the rest of us no matter what song it was, all was great, maybe it's different being there and just watching it on t.v, but if you were there and weren't grooving, then maybe you didn't belong there at all.

i was at the taping, and i had just seen him two nights before in penn state... so this seemed way more tame in person than the actual concert.. but watching it on tv it seemed like musicology was too fast and dear mr. man sounded much better in person... strange.. oh well... and they left out the best part when they did life o the party, soul man and kiss..

Just watched the Bet version.

Because of the constant plugging at the very end they split screen and you couldn't hear Prince answer the question about the Chappelle show bit, whether it was a true story, anyone catch it?

I wasn't there, but damn, I thought those two songs were great in the special! I'm surprised to hear so much criticism on them- I think Musicology is fantastic in a live setting (and I like it in a slightly faster tempo too), and Dear Mr. Man was just awesome imo. That jazz stuff the band played at the beginning and end of the song was really cool, and I'd love to hear a full song that sounded like that!

co-sign Dorthy, damn if Prince & his output of late is that bad why did EWM even tune in? If u don't dig it, why not leave it alone.
