I really don't find it necessary to spend an extra 10$ just because the box is a little longer. I really don't get it.

it's a collector's "thing". it's unusual to find a longbox cd nowadays.

Not if you buy your CDs at Costco, it isn't.

I didn't realize they still made longboxes ANYWHERE. I think that's sort of cool. I remember back in the day I would cut the longboxes up and put them on my wall. They were sort of an extension of the cover art. I can see why people would want to collect them. Hell some people will buy MUSICOLOGY on vinyl if/when they put that out. Cool by me.

Wow! Longboxes! What a blast from the past! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

WHAT IS A COSTCO? Costco (and Sam's Club) are stores that sell wholesale, or in bulk, so they sell huge cans of food and bulk everything. You need a membership to join! It's sick! They have CDs in longboxes (haven't bought one there, not even sure what they are like) but they usually only restrict their stock to the biggest hits and sometimes budget CDs. They are probably seeling "Musicology".

i'm in jersey, usa.... The midwest I guess. Sam's Club is nearly the same thing and I think those are all over (they are connected to the ever evil Wal-Mart). So what is the difference between a long box and a jewel case? How is the CD held in there and how does it hold the booklet?
