She's probably interested in making a little money when she puts an album together.

I saw her on a Gospel show no more than two weeks ago. Still looking like she's over it. Not sure what she's up to now but pulling her Behind The Music wasn't a very good move.

well on one of his interviews, P said that she is quite hard 2 please, although it was a good experience working with her.

maybe she doesn't like his style or something and moved on.....

oh well who cares, we all know P has moved on to big things..... sun guitar canada
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

She has a new biography out, and in it, she says that she really enjoyed making the album with Prince, and had a wonderful time , but she also noted sadly that without major label promotion, the album didn't sell...

Let's not forget that bad habit that she was dealing with. Prince don't play that when it comes to drugs.

Even if "welcome 2 my house" didnt sell.....i'm sure she made more profit from that album then she did w/ some of her albums that were released on a major label.

Prince/Mayte were on a now cancelled late nite show w/ chaka & larry and acted like these 2 were best thing since sliced bread

I think there is another reason behind it.....

Prince was tryin' 2 influence in other ways diet. religion, etc.....

Chaka wasn't havin it....

i remember there being some quiet rumbling shortly after the album came out and she stopped touring with him that there was a bit of a falling out.

Lord, ya'll are some gossping hoes 4 real lol

Nothing happend AT ALL!

It was a ONE-ALBUM-PROJECT/A Masterjam without contract. And thats it!

If you read the book "Chaka! Through The Fire" the woman praised Prince to no end saying that he was a man of his word, never 2nd-guessed his moves and believe it or not she said that this album is her FAVE album to date. Plus, she said that he didn't charge her at all which is the reason why she owes him.

And since when Chaka had a "Behind The Scenes" segment? eek She took the plug-off b4 it got aired and its shelved ever since, nobody seen that shit to this day.

When people GROW APART it doesn't mean there's a bad blood going on between them.

Maybe it was a commercial distaster but artistically it is truly one of Chaka´s best albums, including the Rufus albums...I know some don´t agree with me but I really like this one and as far as I remember it got very positive reviews when it came out...even people you might not have expected, like rapper DMX, praised it as their favorite album of the year, VIBE gave it a good review and I know a lot of people who still love that album.
Chaka´s drug problems are another story and have nothing to do with the quality of this album, rapper Everlast mentioned her crack addiction in an interview back in 1989 so this is pretty much wellknown in the biz.

According to her book, she was CLEAN since 1990 till the end of 99 where she hooked up with somebody who turned out to be a drug dealer and who hooked her up with a connection(naturaly) and according to her sista Tammi, she got back on drugs when she saw her hard work on W2MH got shattered.

After that she booked her-self with a rehab by the consulation of some pastor and got her shit clean eversince, she's now clean for 5 years.

So, ain't no sense of holding the drug thing against her to this day.

Well when you package it up as a triple CD Box set with NPG and Larry...what do you expect?

I only heard cuts from all 3...not the full things...and they sounded pretty crappy...esp as a box set. Who woulda wanted that?

'Come 2 My House' is very underrated in my view. I prefer it to NPS nod
