MUSICOLOGY GOING TO POP RADIO Musicology is just now being serviced to pop radio stations and will be going for adds in the next few weeks... reps have been playing the album for key program directors at pop stations for a few weeks getting an idea what they think would be most successfull for pop radio... and the idea was to wait till after the cd came out and MTV was in place... now with the number 3 album in the country they will soon be approaching pop stations across the country... it is most likely at this point that musicology will be first...

Actually, it's wise to ship Musicology to pop radio. It's got a solid footing now on VH1 and MTV and it's a darn good video at that. The song is a summer sounding track and should do well now that the country is heating up. If all goes well, the next "pop" single should do very well too. Sounds like a good strategy all the way around to me. ----- [This message was edited Thu Apr 29 11:07:44 2004 by MarcelJ]

Just doesn't have enough "umph" or a good enough hook to really make serious waves for the album, especially if it's the lead single. The video's all right and professional looking, but all that goes out the window on the radio.

GREAT NEWS! I had a feeling that once the results came in for the first week, then Musicology would start getting some more airplay. I can't wait to see what happens. Thanks manoonearth. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I work in Top 40 radio and still haven't heard anything reguarding a single yet,
I however have been spinning it and I think it sounds hot

Someone will always hum one song or another (no matter what or who it is), but enough to push this shit to the top?! Ain't gonna happen.
