Which do u prefer?

Both are awesome. But, if I had to pick one, I'd go with XPectation. I love the violin and the playfulness in many of the tracks. There are parts in NEWS where I lose a little interest, and that doesn't happen at all with XPectation.

I Liked the X album better.

N.E.W.S. is my nighttime baby...i go to sleep by it..i never played news in the daytime,always at night..right when i want something to go to sleep to..smooth.

Xpectation is better because the tracks actually have melodies and are not one great long bore fest.

I prefer NEWS by far, perhaps due to it featuring more P guitar-work than Xpectation. But that track "Xpedition" is kickin'.....

Never heard Xpectation. How different is it compared to NEWS?

"Xpedition" keeps kicking my ass so bad I can't listen to it more than once
every two weeks.

I love that track.

Though I still prefer the C-Note album to either two of the afore mentioned.

That, coupled with the confusion that's never (2 my knowledge) been cleared up as 2 why he released NEWS instead of Xpectation, (which is the stronger of the works) doesnt make it a particularly pleasurable experience - 4 me at least anyway.

These personal gripes aside, I DO admire him 4 having the balls 2 release something COMPLETELY unexpected of Him (whether I dug it or not!) but Ill still say it should have been so much... MORE.

A good friend of mine knows Vanessa Mae very well, and the next chance I get Im gonna ask her all the little details about the Xpectation sessions, and post it right here!

Xpectation all the way.

It's a great album and would have been a welcome return under the name Madhouse.

N.E.W.S. IMO is dull as dishwater, aural wallpaper.

I think it was intended to be the "Xenophobia" album.He removed the title track ,renamed it "Xpectation" and put it up for download about a year and a half ago to complete the (controversial) YearTwo of NPGMC .

Its a batch of tunes recorded with guests Candy Dulfer , Maceo and violinist (Vanessa Mae?).
The tunes are more structured than the NEWS trax.Jazzy in a MADHOUSE kinda way,also similar to TRC in that sense.No vocals.

Ive enjoyed it and I suggest it is well worth downloading , even if you arent a club member.

Definitely Xpectation. Maybe I am a lazy listener but I don't find N.E.W.S. very engaging. I think Xpectation is much easier to digest. Especially for me since I do not listen to a lot of istrumental music.

It's an easy and complicated answer. I absolutely adore N.E.W.S. I think it was a long over due return to funk. Now, Xpectations is good but I think I became turned off to it because Xenophobia was excluded. Hmmm... No. I find it too mellow for my taste. I am not a big jazz fan and X is so traditional it's repulsive. N.E.W.S. is a wicked swore into upbeat, lyrical pieces. And I just adore hearing the guitar ripping through those tracks.

but I do like it.
