Words and Music By Prince was the title of the show and it seemed BET's program was a lot smoother.

I missed the first minute of the program (but got it taped -- too busy right now to dub and watch it, but I will). Started out with an interview then it cut into Musicology on the stage, then a commercial break.

Seemed as if the interview was intertwined with the performance.

I flipped over to VH1 and MTV to see what was airing and MTV and VH1 had the same program -- a musical montage and other musical artists gabbing about Prince and his style. Then VH1 and MTV cut to a commercial.

When BET cut to their commercial break, which seemed a lot LONGER than normal, MTV came on first and Musicology started, then VH1 came out thier commerical break like 20-30 second later. So, for the rest of the VH1 and MTV side of things, VH! had a 30-second delay of the MTV feed.

The next portion of the music was the acoustical set -- Cream, I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man, Sweet Thing, Proud Mary (a few bars) and Sometimes It Snows in April.

After another commercial break and interview segment, the BET ended with Dear Mr. Man and an end piece of the interview. The interviewer pleaded for Prince to play Adore each time in concert. Says it's the "black people's anthem" and Prince said he will try and incorporate it into his tour slate. As well, the interviewer asked if it was true about the Dave Chappelle Show and the basketball game in 1985 with Charlie Murphy. Prince said it was true and BET aired a small segment of the hilarious basketball scene.

Then Prince was pushed to the side of the screen while BET announced programming relaly loud. Sucked.

Well, looking forward to capture either the VH! or MTV special in the next few days.

the first minute was P classic. the show just starts and he corrects the host and instructs him to introduce the show. The host seemed very happy to be interviewing him. you could tell he was a fan...and a bit disappointed that P wasn't going to play his "dirtier" hit. Tripped him up on the LS tour thing. I was there...there were kids. But P corrected himself and wiggled out of that one.

BET rocked.

I didn't play here. I had MTV2 but all that played was some hip hop something or rather.

Waht happened...that sucked. tho it didn't seem like they played any special videos though. but still.... mad

I did the exact same thing. I dusted of my Hits Video Collection. Nice trip down Memory Lane. I wonder what Prince thinks about himself when he sees videos like Uptown and Controversy???

I'd never seen the "My Name is Prince" video. Mercy, is that thing embarrassing. It nearly destroyed all the goodwill I'd developed toward the actual song.

VH1 and MTV aired the same exact program. So if you catch one, you got them both. BET was the best one.
