Musicology the album hits number 3 in the UK charts

Radio 1's offical top 40 had musicology at number 3.

I'm pretty sure that the top 40 on radio 1 is the offical uk charts and not just an independant chart.

#3 on the official national chart, you can even experience the moment again with the listen again feature if you really feel like it!!

#1 on the R&B chart:

And they have a nice Prince album listing with clips of pretty much everything:

My guess is that Musicology will land somewhere in the middle of the top 100, and I'm hoping that it'll be in the top 40. It's nice to hear that he charts everywhere else, but how about we just go out and cop that record just for him. We know the music's all good, and I know lots of folks here on the .org have it already - let's just send the vibe out to the rest of the country to buy the record. Eh? lol

Ain't it funny how we all say that charts don't matter, but if our man finally climbs up to a hot spot we all go cheerio...

In Holland, the record came in on #8 (out of nowhere) in a chart published by the country's biggest record shop chain (FRS). For what it's worth....might be some promotional thing

just read that it sold 33000 copies in its first week on UK chart. anastacia was in the early 40ks and GNR was about 48k so he was abit behind. but still a very good showing, he just needs to keep it up there but for some reason i think it will drop away unless promotion comes abit heavier!

We should have a poll as to what chart position it will take in the USA.

I personally don't think Top 10, but I am at least hoping for something greater than #34 (that's where William Hung's new CD debuted - although I am actually a fan of Mr. Hung's).

Apparently now that they are counting CDs from concerts in the past week, the total is like 200,000 for the first week which apparently puts him at about #3 on Billboard USA!

I eat my previous words about him not being in the Top 10.

I think being #3 will create even MORE sales because people will see it and say, "Oh look - Prince has a new album out!"
