Hey, I'm new to the forum! Actually, I've been hiding in my purple paisley closet for years and I'm recently back out in the open. I'm pretty obsessed with him but I've spent most of my life surrounded by people who hate Prince with the deepest passion for the most inane reasons, and I eventually buckled to their constant scorn and ridicule and stopped talking about him, put away his cds, took down the posters... I'm so sorry!

The Musicology tour recently came through State College where I live and I was surprised to no end to find out that there were actually people who wanted to go! It was the perfect opportunity to be open about my obsession with him again! So I got a group together, bought a ticket and made the two-hour drive back home to get all my cd's and memorabilia. All the memories came back and I got made fun of by some people, but I've found others that love him too! I'm so sorry that I've denied him for so long. I'll deny him no more!

I realized something, though. I've missed a lot and it's driving me crazy! The last cd I bought was Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic and I never even listened to it! I haven't heard any new news since he split with Mayte and apparently he's married again and has a daughter? Is that true? I don't know! Fill me in here! Tell me what I've missed! I've lost sight of the Dawn and I need to find it again...

i have a feeling you're going to get alot of flames and pisstake for thatpost, so ill give you abit of an update before all that starts

he's married to a woman called Mani, who was a poster on the prince newsgroup and supposedly has been obsessed with him since she was a girl, shes about 28. no news on them having a kid but she must have spent a good amount of time hidden away cos shes never shown a bump.

since rave he changed his name back to prince (duh), released some random mp3s on his nPGMC site, release One Nite Alone which is just him and a piano, but now its sadly OOP. released ONA live which is 3 discs, released xpectation as a new years present last year for the fan club, thats now available for download on his site for $9.99 ($7.77 if you're a member) along with downloaded from year one and 2 now under the name chocolate invasion and the slaughterhouse, also for the same prince. he release c-note which was just jams (i htink) from various soundchecks across europe, also available for download now.

last year he released NEWS, 4 tracks, each 14mins, panned quite heavily but still alot of people like it alot (myself included). oh he released the rainbow children in 2001, which celebrated his recent conversion to the jehova's witness', this album got his best reviews for about 10 years and was constantly 4/5 or more, but now he's released musicology its been panned alot as jazz noodling, typical journalism i suppose!

he released a live dvd of the ONA tour last year too but it was only 75 minutes long and rather poor and odd quality both video and sound. its not too expensive though so its ok.

released musicology this year, on his sellout tour, inducted in rock n roll hall of fame, opened grammies with beyonce etc. on his musicology download store he's put up about once a week a new download, inc virtual b side for musicology, magnificent, and now a video of him performing reflection live and acoustic with wendy(!), first time performing together for 16 years or whatever.

current rumours: releasing an album of live instrumentals on bluenote record label, in the "Near future" (quote from chairman of bluenote) but rumour is it might just be xpectation (which i didnt think was live so there ya go).
he will be recording a new album with wendy & lisa in the near future too. this is according to wendy who was interviewed for entertainment weekly when prince had a big feature on it and was on the cover last week!
